The Cartier Tank Lingot reference 1700/1 is a ladies’ jewelry watch crafted entirely in 18k yellow gold, with a small square case of approximately 14 mm set into an integrated bracelet of solid gold ingot-shaped links. Powered by a quartz movement, it pairs Cartier’s horological codes with the presence of a gold bracelet. The cream dial displays the maison’s signature radial black Roman numerals, a railway minute track and blued steel sword hands, framed by a bezel set with a full row of round brilliant-cut diamonds. Alternating links along the bracelet are pavé-set with two rows of diamonds, while the remaining links are left in polished gold, so the watch reads as a bracelet first and a timepiece second. The hours and minutes are set using a pusher on the caseback and the bracelet closes with a concealed folding clasp. Its name, French for ingot, reflects those solid gold links, and the Lingot belongs to the Tank family that Louis Cartier introduced in 1917, translating its rectangular geometry into a piece of fine jewelry.
