The Rolex Datejust 36 reference 16233 is a 36 mm Rolesor wristwatch combining stainless steel with 18k yellow gold, powered by the self-winding Calibre 3135, a Superlative Chronometer movement with a quickset date and approximately 48 hours of power reserve. This champagne sunburst dial pairs applied gold baton hour markers with a printed Roman numeral minute track, a detail that gives it a slightly more vintage character, along with baton hands and a date at 3 o’clock under the Cyclops lens on the sapphire crystal. The 18k yellow gold fluted bezel frames the dial, and the Oyster case uses a Twinlock screw-down crown and a solid screw-down caseback for 100 meters of water resistance. The watch is worn on a two-tone five-link Jubilee bracelet with polished gold center links and a folding clasp. The Datejust debuted in 1945 as the first self-winding chronometer wristwatch to show the date in a window, and the 16233 was among the first two-tone Datejust models to feature the 3135 movement and a sapphire crystal.
