Description

The Rolex Yacht-Master II reference 116680 is a 44 mm Oystersteel regatta chronograph powered by the self-winding Calibre 4161, a Superlative Chronometer movement with a programmable countdown and approximately 72 hours of power reserve. The countdown can be set from 1 to 10 minutes using the Ring Command bezel, which mechanically links the rotating blue Cerachrom insert to the movement, so sailors can match the timer to the start sequence of a yacht race. The white dial carries luminescent hour markers, a blue minute track for the countdown with a red hand and red triangle, and a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock. The case uses a Triplock screw-down crown, screw-down pushers and a solid screw-down caseback for 100 meters of water resistance. The watch is worn on a three-link Oyster bracelet with an Oysterlock folding safety clasp and Easylink comfort extension. Introduced in steel in 2013, the 116680 brought the Yacht-Master II’s technical complication to a more accessible metal, and its white and blue color scheme has become closely associated with competitive sailing.
