There is a reason the three-color El Primero layout has survived for decades. The ref. 03.2522.400/69.M2280 keeps the familiar light grey, blue, and anthracite sub-registers, but places them over an openworked dial that exposes the movement beneath. At 38mm, the steel case also stays close to the compact proportions of the 1969 original. Within is the automatic El Primero Caliber 400 B beating at 36,000 vibrations per hour, and delivering approximately 50 hours of power reserve. Its column-wheel mechanism can be seen through the openworked dial and sapphire caseback, giving the movement as much visual importance as the three-color counters. The bracelet keeps the package straightforward, leaving the tri-color dial and high-frequency chronograph to carry the story.
