Description

The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Chronograph, reference 402.032, is a hand-wound flyback chronograph in an 18k rose gold case of about 39.5 mm. The design follows the pocket watches and early wristwatches made in Glashütte in the traditional style, with a clean, classic face and slim proportions. The solid silver dial carries blue Arabic numerals, a railway-style minute track and blued steel hands. A small seconds sub-dial sits at 9 o’clock and a 30-minute counter sits at 3 o’clock, and the word Flyback is printed at 6 o’clock. The flyback function lets the wearer reset and restart the chronograph in a single press of the pusher, which is useful for timing back-to-back events. The case has a polished finish and slim lugs, and the watch is worn on a gray suede strap. Inside, the manually wound caliber L951.5 is made, finished and assembled by hand at the Lange manufacture and can be seen through the transparent caseback. The movement has a power reserve of about 60 hours. This is a refined and understated watch for collectors who value traditional German watchmaking.
