The more unusual Seamasters usually aren’t the ones everyone remembers first. The ref. 2534.50 from the 1998 50th Anniversary International Collection is a good example.
Rather than adding visual clutter, Omega kept the GMT surprisingly understated. The bidirectional 24-hour bezel splits into black and silver halves, with contrasting Arabic numerals that clearly separate the day and night hours. The black wave dial doesn’t compete for attention either. Oversized Superlite hour markers, matching hands, and a red GMT hand complete the familiar Seamaster layout. Driving it all is the automatic Caliber 1128, a chronometer-certified movement with a 44-hour power reserve. On its stainless steel bracelet, it isn’t the loudest Seamaster of its era, but that’s exactly what gives it lasting appeal.
