This reference utilized 316L stainless steel and became the first Submariner to feature a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. It increased the model’s depth rating to 300m/1000ft and debuted the high-beat Caliber 3035, a self-winding movement that introduced the Quickset date function.
In this particular piece, the gloss service replacement dial has glowing Super-Luminova, as do the hands. The glow of the original tritium parts would be long gone by now.
