Description
The Speedmaster CK 2998 that became the first OMEGA worn in space gets a modern update through this Speedmaster ref.310.30.40.50.06.001. This 39.7mm watch features a polished and brushed steel case worn on a flat-link bracelet. Its steel bezel has a black aluminum ring insert bearing the popular “Dot Over Ninety.” Protected by a sapphire crystal is a black dial with vintage Super-LumiNova-filled hour markers and alpha hands. Three recessed sub-dials are also present.
Powering this Speedmaster model is the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 3861, a manual-winding movement that stores
50 hours of power. The solid caseback that conceals the movement is engraved with the Seahorse symbol along with the texts “THE FIRST OMEGA IN SPACE” and “OCTOBER 3, 1962”.
