Dating to approximately 1989, this L-serial Rolex GMT-Master II ref. 16710 comes from the earliest years of the reference’s production. Its 40mm steel case features the “holes” case and hollow end links characteristic of the era. The black-and-blue “Pepsi” bezel insert remains a hallmark of the GMT-Master II line. This example is equipped with Caliber 3185, providing steady performance with a 50-hour reserve.
A tritium dial confirms its vintage character, featuring white gold surrounds that frame the aged luminous plots. Over decades, these markers have developed a cream-toned patina, distinct from the stark white of modern variants.
