Description
The Otsuka Lotec No. 6 is a stainless steel watch from the Tokyo independent brand Otsuka Lotec, designed so that the dial resembles a vintage panel meter. Two thin needles replace the usual hour and minute hands. One needle sweeps across an upper scale graduated from 0 to 50 for the minutes, and the other sweeps across a lower arc numbered from 0 to 12 for the hours. A small circular window shows a date number, and a cutaway at the bottom of the dial exposes part of the movement. Japanese characters on the dial identify the model, the mechanical movement, the maker and Toshima, Tokyo. The brushed steel bezel is secured by visible screws around its edge, with a knurled crown at 3 o’clock, and the watch is fitted to a black strap. Otsuka Lotec produces small numbers of watches that treat the dial as an instrument, which makes the No. 6 a distinctive piece for collectors of independent Japanese watchmaking. This example was made in 2025 and has not been worn.
