Although the white gold Daytona ref. 116509 debuted in 2004, it didn’t get this particular blue dial until 2016–the same year the green “John Mayer” Daytona came out alongside the first steel ceramic-bezel Daytona. And, frankly, the blue 116509 has been relatively slept-on ever since. The red subdial accents make the dial pop, and the weight of the solid white gold Oyster bracelet is a joy. The Easylink clasp makes quick adjustments simple, and Rolex’s reliable caliber 4130 movement provides 72 hours of power reserve. Rolex no longer makes blue Daytonas, aside from the ice blue platinum one.
