The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona, reference 126500LN, updates the racing chronograph with a black Cerachrom monobloc bezel in ceramic, its tachymetric scale molded directly into the ring and filled with platinum for legibility against the 40mm Oystersteel case. The black dial carries the model’s three-subdial layout with steel counter rings, tracking a 30-minute totalizer at 3 o’clock, running seconds at 6, and a 12-hour counter at 9, all read against luminescent hour markers. Inside is the automatic Caliber 4131, Rolex’s in-house chronograph movement built around a column wheel and vertical clutch for precise pusher engagement, delivering approximately 72 hours of power reserve, a notable increase over the outgoing Caliber 4130. The Oyster three-piece-link bracelet is secured by a folding Oysterlock safety clasp with Easylink 5mm comfort extension, and the case is water-resistant to 100 meters. Introduced in 2016 alongside the Cerachrom bezel update, the black-dial 126500LN remains the standard-bearer of the modern steel Daytona lineup and one of the most recognizable and requested Rolex chronographs currently in production.
