Description

Released in 2010, the Patek Philippe Nautilus Annual Calendar Moonphase ref. 5726A-001 is one of the few Nautilus watches paired with a black alligator leather strap rather than an integrated bracelet. This detail gives the watch a dressier feel while still retaining the sporty spirit of the Nautilus collection. The 40.5mm stainless steel case features the characteristic porthole-shaped case with “ears” on the side and a rounded octagonal bezel on top. 

The black gradient dial is embossed with the customary horizontal grooves and transitions from dark gray at the center to deep black at the edges. It’s finished with lume-coated white gold applied hour markers and hands for optimal legibility. 

Driving the watch is the self-winding Caliber 324 S QA LU 24H, powering the annual calendar (invented by Patek in 1996) and moon phase complications. The layout is thoughtfully arranged, with day, date, and month displayed in three separate apertures, along with a moon phase and 24-hour subdial at 6 o’clock. The movement beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and offers a power reserve of 35 to 45 hours. A sapphire caseback reveals the meticulously finished movement, complete with Geneva stripes and a 21k gold central rotor.
