The Rolex GMT-Master II, reference 126710GRNR, pairs a 40mm Oystersteel case with a black lacquer dial and a two-colour Cerachrom bezel insert in grey and black ceramic, continuing the model’s role as Rolex’s dedicated traveller’s watch. Beyond the conventional hour, minute and seconds hands, a distinctively coloured 24-hour hand circles the dial once daily, tracking a second time zone against the bidirectional rotatable bezel, while an ingenious jumping-hour mechanism at the crown lets the local hour hand be adjusted independently of the minute and seconds hands. The dial’s ‘GMT-Master II’ inscription appears in green, echoed in the 24-hour hand, and the broad triangular, circular and rectangular hour markers are filled with Chromalight for long-lasting legibility in the dark. The case is built from Rolex’s proprietary Oystersteel, a 904L-family alloy chosen for its corrosion resistance and finish, and the watch is powered by the automatic Calibre 3285, a Rolex manufacture movement rated to -2/+2 seconds a day with an approximately 70-hour power reserve. It is fitted to a five-piece-link Jubilee bracelet, originally created for the 1945 Datejust launch, secured here with a Rolex-patented Oysterlock folding safety clasp and an Easylink extension link for approximately 5mm of on-the-wrist adjustment. This two-tone-bezel GMT-Master II has become one of the most requested modern references in Rolex’s professional lineup since its release.
