The Tradition ref. 7057BB is an interesting Breguet because so much of its identity comes from what is normally hidden. The blackened solid gold dial occupies only the upper portion of the 40mm white gold case, leaving the balance wheel, gear train, and NAC-treated bridges exposed across the rest of the watch. Hand-engraved guilloché gives the dial its traditional Breguet detail, while a power reserve display sits discreetly at ten o’clock.
While the layout comes from Abraham-Louis Breguet’s subscription watches, Caliber 507DR1 gives that historic idea a modern form. It is manually wound and fitted with a silicon balance spring and pare-chute shock protection, with a second view of the mechanism through the sapphire caseback. The result is a timepiece that no longer hides its mechanics, but makes them the reason to look twice.
