Hypnotic in the way only a large moonphase can be, the Arnold & Son Luna Magna ref. 1LMAS.T01A.C1322D pulls your attention straight toward its massive three-dimensional lunar sphere. Measuring 12mm across, the moon is carved from white opal, slowly rotating within the lower half of the dial to recreate the lunar cycle with far more physical presence than a traditional flat display. The surrounding Arizona turquoise stone dial only heightens the effect, while the off-centered white opal subdial at 12 o’clock keeps the time display suspended above the “moon” itself.
Its 44mm steel case frames the celestial display with heat-blued hands and Roman numerals. Inside is the manually wound Caliber A&S1021 with twin barrels delivering a 90-hour power reserve. This mechanical movement tracks the lunar cycle with remarkable precision, requiring a manual correction only once every 122 years.
