Description
The Double Split ref. 404.035 reworked the standard rattrapante layout with a second split system dedicated to elapsed minutes. Instead of splitting only elapsed seconds, Lange added a jumping split-minute system that could track longer intervals with the same precision. The black solid-silver dial gains extra depth through sharply recessed counters and layered surfaces, echoing the movement’s stacked construction beneath.
Its 43.2 mm platinum case stands 15.6 mm thick, though the stepped caseback trims some of the bulk from the profile view. Inside is the manual-winding caliber L001.1, which coordinates twin column wheels and isolator systems to keep both split mechanisms running smoothly at once.
