By the time this model arrived in 2005, the Lange 1 had already earned a reputation as the watch that defined A. Lange & Söhne’s modern era. This Time Zone reference expanded the familiar layout with a practical travel complication, yet the dial remained unmistakably Lange.
A 41.9 mm platinum case frames the argenté solid silver display. Local time occupies the larger sub-dial, accompanied by the outsize date and an UP/DOWN power reserve indicator. A smaller home-time display works in conjunction with the rotating 24-city ring, making it easy to reference a second location at a glance. Driving the display is the hand-wound Caliber L031.1, which features Lange’s untreated German silver three-quarter plate. The watch is finished with a black leather strap.
