Pre-Owned Box Papers 2019
Known for its atypical displays and unusual case designs, Urwerk will never be accused of being conventional. However, even within the rebellious world of Urwerk creations. the UR-111C, introduced in 2018, is wild.
In true Urwerk form, the UR-111C offers an entirely new way to indicate the time. Meant to be read “driver style” (imagine your hands on the steering wheel), the bottom portion of the case facing the wearer is home to two conical displays with jumping hours on the left and running minutes on the right. Between the two windows is another larger aperture with an intriguing helix-shaped minutes display, complete with a retrograde function. The upper portion of the watch includes a jumping digital seconds display comprising optical fibers to scroll the numerals through the round window. Setting the watch requires pulling on the lever that’s nestled into the right side of the case and then turning the long roller that spans the center of the case, just under the running seconds.
The unique time display is housed in an equally unorthodox helmet-like case, which looks like it was designed by a sci-fi devotee. It’s made of titanium with a gunmetal finish, and the sloping case measures 42mm east-to-west, 46mm north-to-south, and 15mm thick. The self-winding movement operates at 28,800 beats per hour (4 Hz) and supplies the UR-111C watch with 48 hours of power reserve.
Limited to just 25 examples, this pre-owned Urwerk Gunmetal Limited Edition Watch UR-111C is accompanied by papers and the manufacturer’s box.
