Description
This is a special edition of the highly coveted Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon. The Apollo 8 variation was introduced in 2018 to mark the 50th anniversary of the first human mission to the Moon. This impressive timepiece has a semi-skeletonized dial showcasing a laser-ablated illustration of the moon’s surface on the black-toned main plate and bridges. The grade 5 titanium hand on the small seconds counter at 9 o’clock is also shaped like NASA’s Saturn V rocket. The case back is engraved with the text “WE’LL SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE.” To provide contrast, the watch features a varnished yellow central seconds hand and a tachymeter scale with white Grand Feu enamel.
The watch is powered by caliber 1861 hand-wound chronograph movement visible from the transparent caseback.
