Description
In 2009, IWC released the stealthy Aquatimer Chronograph “Galapagos Islands” edition ref. IW376705 as a tribute to the Charles Darwin Foundation. This is a 44mm timepiece with a steel case vulcanized in black rubber, fitted with matching black rubber-coated bezel, crown, and chronograph push-pieces. The bezel insert with a black and white 60-minute dive scale is protected by a sapphire crystal and has blue and green Super-LumiNova. The flat, black dial also has Super-LumiNova-filled index hour markers and broad hands. A recessed sub-dial for 30-minute chronograph totalizer is at 12, and the 12-hour chronograph sub-dial is at 6. At 9 o’clock is a small seconds register with a yellow hand. The day and date displays sit side by side at 3 o’clock. This watch is driven by caliber 79320 automatic movement with 44 hours of power reserve.
