Ref. 126720VTNR was a very polarizing GMT-Master II release from Rolex in 2022. It’s just like other Rolex GMT’s except for the bezel color…and the fact that the crown and date are on the left side of the watch. This reference quickly gained the nickname “Sprite” for its black-and-green bezel insert. It is powered by the same reliable automatic 3285 movement with the same 72-hour power reserve as other current Rolex GMT-Master II models. Although secondhand Sprite prices exploded when it first came out, it now trades for similar prices as its right-hand brethren. Collectors refer to left-hand crown watches as “Destro,” while Rolex calls this watch “left-hand drive.” They carefully avoid implying that the watch “should” only be worn on the right wrist. The classic 40mm steel Oyster case of the Sprite GMT will look good no matter which side you choose to wear it on.
