Description
A full ceramic Speedmaster honoring the Apollo 8 mission of 1968. This Dark Side of the Moon variation of the iconic Speedmaster, however, not only commemorates the NASA mission but also puts emphasis on the far side of the moon. It is equipped with the manually-wound caliber 1869 laser-etched with the lunar surface, visible from the open-worked dial and the transparent case back. White and yellow elements provide a good contrast to the all-black color scheme of the watch. This piece is worn on a perforated black leather strap with a yellow interior and yellow stitching.
Engraved on the caseback are the texts “APOLLO 8, DEC 1968”, “WE’LL SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE,” and “DARK SIDE OF THE MOON.”
