It wasn’t too long ago that green watches were considered uncommon; it was a color used sparingly across timepieces. Yes, Rolex has been making green watches for a while including smash hits like the Submariner “Hulk,” Daytona “John Mayer,” GMT-Master “Sprite,” and green-dialed Day-Dates and Datejusts; yet, green wasn’t a color embraced as heavily by other watchmakers. However, green watches are now seemingly everywhere, and in 2024, we’ve seen a flurry of them released by top watch brands. From citrus to olive to forest, and plenty in between, there’s a wide spectrum of green-pigmented watches to choose from. And it’s not just limited to dials; there also are green straps, green bezels, and green gems to consider. While we can’t possibly cover all the green timepieces released so far in 2024, here’s a comprehensive list of the ones that caught our eye.
Green Tudor Black Bay 58 18k Watch
Tudor turned heads and raised eyebrows when it released a full 18k yellow gold Black Bay 58 at Watches & Wonders 2024. With its more than $30,000 price tag, the brand encroaches on its sibling Rolex’s territory! The yellow gold case and bracelet are brushed, which isn’t typical for a gold watch (people usually want them as shiny as possible), but still clinging on to tool watch vibes is most definitely a signature Tudor move. Tudor opted to pair its first-ever solid yellow gold diver with a green bezel and dial (the color of money?) in a shade the brand refers to as “golden green.”

Green Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph DATO “Glassbox” Watch
One of TAG Heuer’s releases at LVMH Watch Week 2024 was a Carrera Chronograph DATO “Glassbox” watch with a teal green dial and bezel. The watch follows the same design blueprint as the “Glassbox” model released in 2023 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Carrera, which is to say a 39mm case and dramatically domed crystal that offers an expansive view of the dial and bezel. However, new to the TAG Heuer model is that dial, with not only a fresh hue but also the “DATO” layout characterized by a date at 9 o’clock and a single counter at 9 o’clock.

Green Omega Planet Ocean Watch
Omega does not usually shy away from publicity, typically releasing its watches with great fanfare, often with help from celebrity ambassadors. However, in early 2024, the brand quietly released a new set of Seamaster Planet Ocean watches, all of which are “Boutique Exclusives.” Included in the 2024 Planet Ocean collection is a variant with a brushed steel case, a brushed steel dial, a brushed green ceramic bezel, and a green rubber strap with gray details. The combination of green and gray is a first for the Planet Ocean and a cool-looking addition to the collection.

Green Vacheron Constantin Overseas Watch
As part of its novelties for 2024, Vacheron Constantin unveiled a quartet of pink gold Overseas watches, all furnished with green dials. While Vacheron Constantin also presented a diamond ladies’ version, a dual-time edition, and a chronograph, the green Overseas Self-Winding 41 will likely be the most popular since it’s a variant of the flagship model. As is customary for Overseas watches, the piece comes fitted with an integrated bracelet and is accompanied by two additional straps. In this case, the straps (one in leather and the other in rubber) are both rendered in green to match the lacquered dial.

Green Hublot Big Bang Unico SAXEM Watch
SAXEM, a Hublot proprietary material similar to synthetic sapphire but brighter, is available in a vibrant green hue and appears across several of the brand’s models. One example is the Hublot Big Bang Unico Green SAXEM launched at LMVH 2024, which pairs a translucent green case with a matching green rubber strap. The watch is also accented with plenty of black details, resulting in a striking chronograph watch. Limited to only 100 examples, the very green Hublot watch retails for more than $100,000.

Green Breitling Navitimer Automatic 41
The Navitimer has long been one of Breitling’s flagship watches, beginning its life as a chronograph for pilots complete with a slide rule for aviation-focused calculations. While the Navitimer is still a mainstay of Breitling’s catalog, the company hasn’t been shy in remastering the model for modern buyers; take for example the Navitimer Automatic 41 watch, which isn’t a chronograph but rather, a simplified three-hander that retains the slide rule. For some, it just isn’t a Navi if it’s not a chronograph but for others, it’s a new way to enjoy the famed Breitling watch. Part of Breitling’s 2024 releases includes a Navitimer Automatic 41 watch with a green dial fitted inside a stainless steel case.

Green Zenith Chronomaster Sport
The Chronomaster Sport has quickly become one of Zenith’s most popular collections since its debut in 2021. The brand has continued to expand the sporty chronograph collection with more materials and color including a steel and green variant that joined the lineup in 2024. To be clear, this wasn’t the first green Chronomaster Sport that Zenith had made—there was a limited edition Aaron Rodgers with an almost identical colorway, released the year prior. However, this is a regular-production model with different-toned subdials and no mention of the Jets quarterback.

Green Cartier Santos-Dumont Watch
At Watches and Wonders 2024, Cartier released a trio of Cartier Santos-Dumont timepieces with colorful lacquered dials. The standout model among the three is the platinum with green lacquer on the bezel, case, and dial. Unlike most Cartier watches with Roman numerals, the dial of this Santos-Dumont is home to Arabic numerals with curves that echo the curves of the case. Limited to only 200 pieces, the green Cartier Santos-Dumont watch retails for $21,900.

Green Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Chronograph
Among Audemars Piguet’s 2024 releases was a batch of pink gold Code 11.59 watches, fitted with fresh dials and color-matched straps. One option is the Code 11.59 Selfwinding Chronograph, which pairs an 18k pink gold case with a green dial and a green rubber strap. The dial is punctuated with matching pink gold details while the caseback is finished with a sapphire crystal for a view of the movement inside. While the Code 11.59 isn’t the most popular Audemars Piguet collection right now, it’s clear that the brand is doubling down on its efforts to expand the collection to play the long game.

Citrus Green H. Moser & Cie Pioneer Centre Seconds Concept Watch
H. Moser & Cie is famous for its exquisite dials, often offering bright colors punctuated only by hands and nothing else — no indices, text, or other distractions. Case in point is the Pioneer Centre Seconds Concept Citrus watch featuring a stainless steel case that houses a radiant bright green fumé dial. The shade can only be described as resembling a tennis (or pickle) ball, which is a vibe for the summer. This is a green watch that will undoubtedly turn heads!

The Proliferation of Green Watches in 2024
So, given all the green watches released in 2024, are green watches here to stay? Or will this be a watch trend that will eventually fade away? I think that green watches will always be available but perhaps brands will scale back on how many they release over the next few years.
It’s a color that’s certainly more eye-catching than neutrals such as silver, black, brown, or even blue, but that can also mean it can get tiring after a while. A green watch is rarely someone’s first timepiece purchase but it’s certainly a fun addition to an already well-rounded watch collection.
