Rolex Publicly Publishes Service Prices for the First Time
If you’re wondering how much it costs to service a Rolex at a Rolex Service Center, the answer has never been more transparent. Rolex has published service pricing on their website for the first time, with prices starting at $660 for most new models and $1,650 for most vintage ones. “Neo-vintage” models are priced in between, and rare models can cost over $8,000. We’ll break down the Rolex Service Center pricing for the US here.

Here are the servicing prices from Rolex’s website:

Note that pricing does not include refinishing (polishing + brushing). That adds $170 for 5-digit and 6-digit models and $330 for anything vintage. All services over $3,000 are only handled by the Rolex Restoration Atelier, who specializes in meticulous high-value vintage restoration.

What Stood Out
A few things are interesting about the recently-published Rolex service price list. First of all, it’s notable that Rolex can still service quartz movements, although the $3,850 price is rather eye-watering. It’s also significant that 4-digit models now cost more than double what an equivalent 6-digit model costs to service, across the board.

Even a common 1990s Rolex Submariner 16610 costs more to service ($1,210) than a new Daytona ($940) and servicing a chronograph is a lot more work.
Also note that Rolex was using 5-digit Cellini reference numbers well into the “6-digit era,” (same for 4-digit Cellinis in the 5-digit era) but Cellinis are still priced by the actual number of digits. So a modern Cellini Moonphase ref. 50535, even though it’s as new as many 6-digit models, is priced like a 5-digit, for example. A 1908 Perpetual though, despite having a 5-digit reference number, has the lower 6-digit service prices.
Is Rolex Service Pricing Worth It?
Well, Rolex’s new service pricing clearly shows that Rolex knows how much money gets spent on their vintage models. $2,200 is a lot to ask for a quote/assessment! But, I’m sure people will pay it. And in my experience, Rolex Service Centers do excellent work.

The days of frequent “horror stories” of “Rolex replacing the vintage parts and ruining the character” are many, many years behind them at this point. Still, if you have a trusted local watchmaker who can do overhauls for $500 or so, that would be hard not to consider for a lot of Rolex owners.
