Description
There is nothing quite like the retro appeal of the Rolex Day-Date ref.1803. This vintage Day-Date model, introduced in the 50s, features a 36mm yellow gold case, a fluted bezel in yellow gold, a pie-pan dial, an acrylic crystal, and a non-quickset movement. Resting on the champagne dial are blackened baton hour markers and luminous yellow gold hands. At 12 o’clock is an aperture with the day of the week spelled in full, while at 3 is the magnified date window. The watch has a solid caseback and is worn on a brown leather strap. Ticking inside the Day-Date ref.1803 is caliber 1555, operating at 18,000 beats per hour.
