Here is an early Cellini model featuring an egg-shaped case in 18K yellow gold. The brushed and ridged bezel frames a numberless gradient black dial featuring the signature of Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said, the Sultan of Oman from 1970-2020. In fact, this watch was made shortly after Qaboos overthrew his father and took the throne; several of these Rolexes with Qaboos’s distinctive signature were given as gifts to those that aided him in his bloodless coup. So, this is a bit more of a conversation-starter than your typical Rolex! The case measures approximately 25mm in diameter and is fitted onto a black leather strap. This two-hander watch is powered by caliber 1600 manual-winding movement with up to 48 hours of power reserve.
