New Reverse Panda Omega Speedmaster Unveiled
At the Met Gala 2025, actor and Omega ambassador Colman Domingo sported an unreleased yellow gold Speedmaster Professional with a reverse panda dial. As of January 2026, it has finally been released, along with a stainless steel equivalent. Omega calls it the “Moonwatch in Black and White.”

A “reverse panda dial” is just a black dial with white (or at least light-colored) subdials, and they’ve always been popular with watch collectors. Black dials are the norm for Speedmasters, and there are plenty of white-dial Speedmasters and colored ones too.
Reverse pandas seem particularly hot these days, perhaps in part because of the sensation that is the Rolex Le Mans Daytona, but Omega had only ever put them on a Speedy Pro once before. In any case, the yellow gold reverse panda Omega Speedmaster certainly looked good on Mr. Domingo’s wrist:

Moonshine Gold is Omega’s relatively pale yellow proprietary gold alloy.
What’s Special About the “Black and White”?
In addition to the subdials of course being white instead of black, the reverse panda Speedy dials are varnished and lacquered, so the black is richer than on typical matte ones. The recessed white subdials are varnished and lacquered as well, and Omega boasts about using “rhodium-plated subdial frames.” Also, the bezel insert is ceramic with white enamel text. This is the first time Omega has made a steel Speedy Pro with a ceramic bezel insert.
The new steel Speedy Pro Black and White is identical to the “Sapphire Sandwich” ref. 310.30.42.50.01.002 aside from the dial and bezel insert.
Omega Speedmaster Reverse Panda Price
Retail price for the steel Omega Speedmaster Professional reverse panda is $10,400, while the Moonshine Gold one is $49,300. That’s $1,300-$1,400 more than equivalent “normal” Speedmaster Professionals with bracelets and exhibition casebacks, with the premium being attributed to the lacquered dials and ceramic bezel inserts with enamel fill.

When to Expect It?
These new models were released on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, which is fitting because the only other reverse Panda Speedmaster Professional is the Speedy Tuesday model, a limited edition released in collaboration with Fratello in 2017. Omega tends to have new products ready in stores fairly shortly after they get announced. I expect these reverse pandas to be popular, although the five-figure stainless steel price tag will probably get some complaints.
