Girard-Perregaux 2025 Releases: Seven New Laureatos and a Deep Diver

Girard-Perregaux’s watchmaking history is as respectable as it gets, and the quality of their products has remained high through several ownership changes. But when it comes to capturing the attention of the watch enthusiast world, most of their lineup, for whatever reason, fails to do it. The exception is the Laureato–their integrated-bracelet sports watch line–which has been steadily gaining steam ever since it was thoroughly updated in 2016. The first seven 2025 Girard-Perregaux releases were all Laureato models, and they’ve also thrown in a colorful retro homage to their 1969 Deep Diver Gyromatic. Let’s get into it.

The comparisons of the Laureato to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak lineup are inevitable, as the original Laureato was basically an unashamed quartz Royal Oak competitor released in 1975. But I get the feeling that the watch world is ready to stop caring if things are “copying the Royal Oak.” Integrated-bracelet luxury watches are here to stay, and the current (fourth-generation) Laureato is a good-looking watch. Plus, the 44mm Laureato Absolute is a credible alternative to the AP Royal Oak Offshore, and there’s a new one of those in the mix. There are seven 2025 Girard-Perregaux Laureato models to discuss, but first let’s talk about their retro Deep Diver release.

Girard-Perregaux x Bamford Deep Diver

The Girard-Perregaux Deep Diver ref. 9108 debuted in 1969, and that’s exactly the year it looks like. Notable for its Gyromatic movement (a relatively early example of a bidirectional rotor), 14-sided outer bezel, and inner timing bezel spun by a crown, the original Deep Diver was not a subtle watch. And neither is the 2025 version, the Girard-Perregaux Deep Diver Legacy released in collaboration with Bamford. Limited to 350 pieces, this throwback features a grade 5 titanium case with a reasonable 40.3mm diameter. It’s available for £12,900.00 directly from Bamford’s website, or at Girard-Perregaux authorized dealers.

Bamford is known for customizing high-end watches, but they don’t just do one-offs anymore. In addition to working with GP, Bamford now officially works with Bulgari, Chopard, Bremont, Franck Muller, TAG Heuer and Zenith. Frankly, I understand where Bamford is adding value when they provide custom options–like making a Franck Muller x Bamford Casablanca with colors specifically to your liking. But this GP looks like a straight-up reissue of the original Deep Diver, except with orange lume. If there are no customization options at play, couldn’t Girard-Perregaux have just painted the hands and hour markers orange themselves? Oh well. It’s a cool case shape and I’m a sucker for deep dish rehauts. I don’t expect these to fly off the shelves at $15,100, though.

Laureato Skeleton WinteRace Edition

The Girard-Perregaux Laureato Skeleton WinteRace Edition is a special release commemorating the brand’s partnership with the WinteRace Cortina, a classic car rally in the Italian Alps. Launched on March 13, 2025, this model features a 42mm case and integrated bracelet crafted entirely from black ceramic, making it lightweight yet highly scratch-resistant. The watch is powered by the in-house automatic caliber GP01800-0006, visible through a skeletonized dial and exhibition caseback, and finished with a pink gold oscillating weight. GP proudly boasts of 55 hand-finished internal angles.

It’s a simple time-only movement, with hours, minutes, and small seconds displayed. Gold-plated hands and indexes are filled with green lume, while the case and bracelet alternate between polished and satin finishes. The WinteRace Edition is not a numbered limited edition but is produced in limited quantities due to the inherent complexity of ceramic bracelet construction. MSRP is $52,000, but secondhand prices will likely be more palatable, given that pre-owned stainless steel versions of the GP Laureato Skeleton trade for about half of their list price of $43,600.

Laureato 38mm 2025 Gem-Set Models

2025 isn’t the first year that Girard-Perregaux has released a Laureato with a gem-set bezel, but it is the first time they’ve made a baguette-set Laureato bezel. Setting a bezel with baguettes–especially a bezel shaped as oddly as the Laureato’s–is infinitely more difficult than simply setting the needed size of round brilliants on it.

That’s largely why ref. 81005-58S3463-1CM–a stainless steel Laureato 38mm with a white gold hobnail dial and a baguette-set bezel–costs $52,200. That’s roughly 2.5x as much as ref. 81005-11S3464-1CM, which is basically the same watch except its bezel is set with standard brilliant-cut sapphires and diamonds (and its dial isn’t made of solid gold).

Laureato Absolute Aston Martin F1 Edition 2025

With the release of the Laureato Absolute Aston Martin F1 Edition 2025, Girard-Perregaux has now made 8 Aston Martin-themed watches from 2021-2025. Priced at $14,300, this is actually by far the most affordable one yet. Made of grade 5 titanium and coming on an integrated rubber strap, the watch features a dial with an “Aston Martin racing green” color.

The lime green accents and skeletonized baton hands tie it together nicely. Only 88 will be made, but if you’d like a blue non-Aston-Martin-themed version of this, you can find ref. 81070-21-002-FB6A secondhand for under $9,000.

For 2025, Girard-Perregaux also released a standard Laureato model in partnership with Aston Martin. It’s a 42mm Laureato Chronograph made of grade 5 titanium, and it’s actually the first GP x Aston Martin watch that’s not a limited edition. The special thing about the 2025 Girard-Perregaux Laureato Aston Martin Chronograph is clearly its iridescent green dial, which looks more yellowish in some light.

It takes 15 ultra-thin layers of automotive paint to achieve its look! Its sapphire caseback, as expected, features the Aston Martin logo in white. I’m not sure if the 2025 Aston Martin Laureato Chrono will be as popular as the earlier dark green ceramic Aston Martin Laureatos, but with such an unusual dial, I’m sure they’ll sell a decent number of them–although perhaps not at the full list price of $22,700.

2025 Girard-Perregaux Laureato Tourbillon Bucherer Edition

Girard-Perregaux unveiled a 45mm tourbillon version of the Laureato in 2017, with a large visible tourbillon at 6 o’clock fastened to the dial with an arrow-shaped bridge evoking the aesthetic of their famous “Three Bridges” watches. The next year, a 43mm tourbillon Laureato was released, and for 2025, there’s a Girard-Perregaux Laureato Tourbillon Bucherer Exclusive (ref. 99115-21-3372-1GM) featuring a titanium bracelet, a white gold lower half of the bezel, and a dark grey hobnail (or Clous de Paris) dial. It’s basically a 2mm smaller version of the 99105-41-232-41A from 2024. The 45mm Laureato Tourbillon (and for that matter, all other versions of the 43mm Laureato Tourbillon) are now discontinued.

On 43mm Laureato Tourbillons, there are no 4 or 8 o’clock hour markers; that’s the easiest way to tell them apart from 45mm models in photos. Anyway, the Laureato Tourbillon Bucherer Edition will, obviously, only be sold at Bucherer stores. It’s limited to 8 pieces, which might be a good thing considering its who’s-gonna-pay-that list price of $117,000. The 45mm 2024 version is readily available unworn secondhand for just over half that. Price aside, it’s a pretty sleek watch, but let’s talk about a slightly more approachable model.

Laureato Chronograph Ice Blue

The first stainless steel Girard-Perregaux release of 2025 is the Laureato Chronograph Ice Blue. Note that this is a brand new color, distinct from the “glacier blue” Japan edition Laureato. It’s also noticeably more greyish than the ice blue dials found on many platinum Rolex Day-Date models. The Laureato Chronograph has been offered in 38mm and 42mm sizes since its revamp in 2018, and this one is the larger size.

Aside from the new color, this 2025 Girard-Perregaux release is essentially the same as the 2018 one. Its GP03300 movement, built on the GP3300 base caliber with an added chronograph module, is known for its smooth pusher operation and high-quality finishing, including Côtes de Genève, chamfering, and straight graining. While it does not feature a vertical clutch or column wheel mechanism (common in high-end chronographs), the chronograph module has proven robust and reliable. At $19,100, its list price is higher than that of a Rolex Daytona, but the finishing backs that up. Only 180 will be made.

These 2025 Girard-Perregaux releases are certainly attractive, but it will be interesting to see if the brand has more up its sleeve this year than new color/material options. They’re one of the most underrated luxury watch brands, and the Laureato has been a strong lineup for them in recent years. Since 2022, Sowind Group (which is just Girard-Perregaux plus Ulysse Nardin) has been independently owned by the company’s CEO, Patrick Pruniaux, and his management team. We’re rooting for them to come up with another hit.
