Bulgari Watch Prices: Are Bvlgari Watches Worth It?
During the watch price craze of 2020-2022, many luxury watch collectors grew frustrated with the over-MSRP prices that the most popular timepieces were trading for, but Bvlgari watch prices have stayed surprisingly reasonable. In fact when we look beyond the very top names in the industry, there are a surprising number of outstanding luxury watch brands with excellent offerings that regularly sell well under list price, and Bulgari is a prime example. In this article, we’ll give you a holistic picture of Bvlgari watch prices, both past and present.
How Much is a Bvlgari Watch?
Bulgari’s standard men’s watches have retail prices ranging from $3,100 for their most basic automatic Aluminium watch, to $45,500 for a solid gold ultra-thin Octo Finissimo model. As one of the world’s leading jewelers, Bulgari has also offered some extravagant diamond-covered high jewelry watches costing up to $928,000.
But even without gems, Bulgari offers watches worthy of stratospheric prices as part of their “Grandes Complications” collection. Bvlgari made the world’s thinnest tourbillon watch and the world’s thinnest minute repeater–both of which now sell for upwards of $150,000–not to mention the Octo Finissimo Ultra, the second-thinnest mechanical watch ever, which retailed for over $400,000.
Used Bvlgari Prices
Fortunately most Bvlgari watches can be found secondhand at nice discounts. For used Bulgari watches, $3,000-$10,000 is a sweet spot. The bottom of that range can get you a magnesium Bvlgari Diagono while the upper range is enough for most of the popular modern steel models–even an Octo Finissimo. It’s worth nothing that in recent years, Bulgari has also started to credibly compete in the over-$20,000 range with the Octo Finissimo Skeleton 8 Days. Solid gold Octo models can be found secondhand typically in the $22,000-$35,000 range.
Cheapest Bvlgari Watches
You can find a quartz ladies’ BVLGARI BVLGARI watch from the 1990’s for under $500, but the cheapest men’s Bvlgari watch worth considering is probably a used Diagono for about $1,000. The Diagono is a bit dated but it’s a classy sports watch–arguably Bulgari’s answer to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. Many of these old Bvlgaris are perfectly decent, although the finish isn’t on par with what Bulgari is doing now (particularly since their acquisition by LVMH in 2011).
As far as new watches go, the basic Bvlgari Aluminium ($3,100 list price) is the cheapest men’s model in the Bulgari catalog. The least expensive current ladies’ watch is a BVLGARI BVLGARI watch–arguably the most important design in Bulgari watch history–with a quartz movement. Its list price is $3,800 but it can be found from grey market dealers for about $2,500.
Most Expensive Bvlgari Watches
In 2019, Bulgari released a version of their Octo L’Originale completely covered in over 50 carats of baguette diamonds, and its $928,000 retail price makes it the most expensive Bvlgari watch of all time. In 2022, the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra made wristwatch history as the first mechanical watch with a case thinner than 2mm. Only 10 examples of the astounding 1.8mm-thick Octo Finissimo Ultra were made, and their €400,000 retail price makes them the most expensive non-diamond Bulgari watches by far.
The Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater, which is the thinnest minute repeater in the world, would be next on the list of most expensive Bvlgari watches with a resale value of roughly $170,000. Bvlgari has also made an Octo Finissimo tourbillon model, as well as a platinum minute repeater, both of which sell secondhand for about $150,000. Some of Bulgari’s spectacular gem-covered “price-on-request” high jewelry ladies’ watches reach well into six figures, too.
Are Bvlgari Watches a Good Value?
Considering that you can find a platinum rattrapante Bvlgari chronograph secondhand for $10,000, and that the attractive Octo Velocissimo chronograph can be had for $7,000–around half the price of some of its competition– yes, Bulgari offers an objectively compelling horological value. The magnesium-cased Diagono ref. DG41SMC, which can be found for under $3,000, is another standout among many reasonably-priced Bvlgari watches.
Bvlgari Watch Prices for Popular Models
While the Serpenti watch has remained an iconic choice for a high jewelry watch for decades, Bulgari currently has three core collections for watch enthusiasts: BVLGARI BVLGARI, Aluminium (which superseded the Diagono), and Octo. Let’s go over the prices of some of the most popular references now.

Are Bvlgari Watches a Good Investment?
Well, we really don’t recommend buying watches as an “investment” per se but we can tell you that the Bulgari watches that hold their value best right now seem to be Octo Finissimo models–in particular the skeletonized versions. Bulgari makes high-quality watches but you should not expect to sell one for more than you paid.
Retail Bvlgari Watch Price–How Much Discount?
As a general rule, you should be able to find most Bvlgari watches secondhand for 25% off list price without much trouble. This isn’t universally true, though–the hottest models tend to trade around MSRP and in fact you can expect to pay slightly over list price for an Octo Finissimo Skeleton 8-Day model. But, many used Bulgari watches can even be found around half-off list price.
Considering their quality and genuinely distinctive designs–along with impressive complications in many cases–Bvlgari watch prices seem quite reasonable. You might want to scoop up a heavily discounted Bulgari while you can, though–if they keep releasing hits like the Octo Finissimo Skeleton, we might see more secondhand Bvlgari watch prices inch closer to the dreaded over-MSRP level. But at least for now, luxury watch buyers can choose from numerous Bulgari watches at very competitive prices.
