All the Blancpain 2025 Releases: The World’s First Grand Double Sonnerie and More
Blancpain is primarily known for high-end mechanical dress watches, and their Fifty Fathoms dive watches. The 2025 Blancpain releases include plenty of both, as well as two new colorways of the popular Swatch x Blancpain Scuba. A smaller Fifty Fathoms (38mm) and a groundbreaking multimillion-dollar chiming complication are the headlines. Let’s go over all the Blancpain 2025 novelties.
2025 Blancpain Grand Double Sonnerie
In November 2025, Blancpain revealed their most complicated watch yet–which is remarkable when you consider the brand’s history of high horology. The Blancpain Grand Double Sonnerie 15GSQ is the world’s first grande sonnerie with two different melodies that the wearer can choose between.
There’s the Westminster chime (the familiar “Big Ben” tune) as well as another tune composed by KISS drummer Eric Singer (which, out of mechanical necessity, uses the same four notes but in a different order). That’s what you’ll hear at the top of every hour, before a number of chimes representing the current hour, unless you have the watch set to “silent.”
The fact that this watch is a grande et petite sonnerie means that, in addition to its “silent” option, the user can switch between “grande” and “petite” mode. A slider on the left side of the watch is where the wearer chooses one of three settings: grande sonnerie, petite sonnerie, or silent.
Both grande and petite sonneries, in addition to the song/chimes at the top of each hour, also chime every fifteen minutes. The only difference is that a grande sonnerie reminds you of the hours every fifteen minutes, as in “ding ding, dong dong dong” at 2:45, while a petite sonnerie would only chime the “dong dong dong” representing 45 minutes (3 x 15 minutes).
The tune-selector pusher is located at 8 o’clock on the case and engages a column-wheel mechanism that shifts a double rack inside the movement, switching the hammer sequence (and thus the melody) of the sonnerie complication. An indicator near 6 o’clock on the dial shows either “W” (Westminster) or “B” (Blancpain), so you know which tune is currently active. The bell icon at 3 o’clock switches to a crossed-out bell icon when the watch is set to silent mode, or when its power reserve is too low to chime. Note that the chiming functions have their own power supply (mainspring) separate from the main timekeeping one.
A grande et petite sonnerie on its own is newsworthy, but this watch is a minute repeater as well. A slide on the side of the case chimes the hours, quarter-hours, and minutes on command. Chiming complications are often regarded as the most difficult frontier in high watchmaking, but this watch didn’t stop there. It’s also a perpetual calendar, with equally-sized subdials indicating the day and month on the right side of the dial and a large retrograde pointer date display on the left. Plus there’s a flying tourbillon for good measure.
The price tag of roughly $2 million reflects the eight years of research and development it took, putting it among the most expensive watches in the world. To protect such an investment, Blancpain integrated a safety system that prevents accidental activation or damage to the chiming mechanism, using a sophisticated locking system so the grand complication cannot be set, wound, or struck in conflicting modes at the same time.
Blancpain offers the 15GSQ in either rose gold or white gold, and only two will be made per year. It’s common for tourbillon watches, perpetual calendars, grande sonneries and minute repeaters to sell for six figures, and this watch is all four at once. Plus there’s the never-before-scene option to switch between two melodies, the large and impressive retrograde date, and the phenomenal skeletonization of the movement. And Blancpain managed to fit it all in a case roughly the same thickness (14.5mm) as a Tudor Black Bay Chrono, which is impressive even with a sizable 47mm diameter.

Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Blue Abyss
Blancpain’s 2024 releases included a line of black ceramic Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe watches, and for 2025 they’ve added an attractive blue ceramic case option that they’re calling “Blue Abyss.”
The Blue Abyss combines a deep blue ceramic case and bezel with a matching sunburst blue dial and blue sailcloth strap. For the first time in the Bathyscaphe lineup, the unidirectional bezel is fully lumed with Super-LumiNova that matches the color of the dial lume (either blue or white, which glows green). Blancpain fans will be familiar with the Bathyscaphe’s 43.6mm diameter, 300 meter water resistance, and caliber 1315 automatic movement offering a five-day power reserve. The movement is visible through a sapphire caseback and fitted with a special blue-coated gold rotor. Even the crown and date wheel are blue.
The 2025 Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe “Blue Abyss” is not a limited edition, although the blue-lume version will only be sold at Blancpain boutiques. MSRP is $17,400.

2025 Blancpain Villeret Lineup
In the fall of 2025, Blancpain unveiled a new generation of core Villeret models. The Villeret is their main classy dress watch line, and there are three new Villeret watches, each available in either stainless steel or rose gold, with either an opaline (whiteish-silver) or cappuccino-colored dial. There’s the 33.2mm time-and-moonphase Villeret Quantième Phases de Lune (available with or without a diamond-set bezel), the 40mm full calendar moonphase Villeret Quantième Phases de Lune, and the 40mm time-and-date Villeret Extraplate (extra-thin).
All of them have automatic movements, sapphire exhibition casebacks, skeletonized solid gold rotors, and notably, a quick-release strap system. This makes it easy to swap between the different alligator leather straps (available in brown, honey, beige nubuck, and blue-grey) without needing any spring bar tools. The quick-release system is implemented both at the lugs and on the deployant clasp, with Blancpain redesigning the clasp to include a small extension and a more secure pin.
This seems like a welcome step forward for the Villeret family. It’s an interesting choice to launch it with only two specific dial colors, but I think they chose the colors well. Other existing types of Villeret watches (like Grande Date, Chrongraphe Flyback Pulsometer, Carrousel Phases de Lune, 8 Jours, Tourbillon Volant etc.) continue to be offered alongside this new “generation.”

Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 38.2mm
The pendulum of watch sizing is continuing to swing towards smaller models, and for 2025 Blancpain has unveiled their smallest Fifty Fathoms models yet: an entire collection of 38.2mm models available in steel, red gold, or titanium cases. Although this 5007 model has a decidedly unisex case size, a somewhat surprising pink bezel insert option (which comes with a mother-of-pearl dial) is clearly aimed at women.
The stainless steel and titanium versions are available on a three-link metal bracelet, while all three metals are available with tropic rubber, sailcloth, or NATO straps. The NATO option is the cheapest because it comes with a simple tang buckle rather than a folding clasp. Steel models come with black dials, while the gold and titanium versions are available with either blue or mother-of-pearl dials. The titanium MOP option has the aforementioned pink accents, and the red gold MOP model has black accents.

Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Automatique 42mm Polished Steel
A logical expansion of the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms came in April 2025 with a 42.3mm stainless steel version of the Fifty Fathoms. The classic Fifty Fathoms, widely regarded as the first modern dive watch, is a chunky 45mm, and the 42.3mm size first appeared only on limited editions in 2023. But the 2024 Blancpain releases included non-limited titanium and red gold models. And now the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Automatique 42mm Polished Steel is here with a black sunburst dial.
Blancpain calls it “polished steel” for a reason–this is a highly polished watch. Like, 2010 Breitling levels of polish. The bracelet version does have brushed center links which provide some contrast. High polish fits just fine on the Fifty Fathoms, which has always been a fairly loud watch thanks to its prominent sapphire bezel. With 38.2mm and 42.3mm models now in Blancpain’s catalog alongside the classic 45mm option, the brand says “the Fifty Fathoms Automatique line now stands as a complete, coherent family.”

2025 Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Tech
Although the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms has a rich history, the Fifty Fathoms “Tech” lineup is relatively new. The Fifty Fathoms Tech Gombessa appeared in 2021 with orange dial accents and an unusual 3-hour bezel configuration (with a corresponding 3-hour hand).
Tech models have the same distinctive sapphire bezel and 4:30 date window as a regular Fifty Fathoms, but with a more “futuristic” hour/date font, a pointier crown guard, and an integrated rubber bracelet. By entering the realm of integrated bracelet luxury watches, perhaps Blancpain is trying to compete with the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept. Two new Fifty Fathoms Tech models were released in 2025–a limited one with blue “Tech” text and seconds hand, and a regular production model with orange accents.
Like the Tech Gombessa, the 2025 Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Tech models are made of Grade 23 titanium, also known as Ti-6Al-4V ELI (Extra Low Interstitials). It’s an expensive high-purity titanium alloy generally regarded as superior to Grade 5 titanium. Blancpain has been using it on an increasing number of models since 2021, and Cartier and Laventure seem to be the only other brands making watches with it.
The 2025 Tech releases adopt the 45mm diameter of the classic Fifty Fathoms (the Gombessa was 47mm) and drop the 3-hour bezel in favor of a traditional 60-minute one. The matte dials are “absolute black,” meaning they supposedly absorb 97% of light. The Fifty Fathoms Tech “Ocean Commitment IV” edition is limited to 100 pieces and features a rotor with the “Ocean Commitment” logo on it, along with a $26,000 price tag. 1,000 euros from each sale goes to the organization, which was launched in 2014 to support ocean conservation.
The standard production orange-accent Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Tech was unveiled in July of 2025. While the Ocean Commitment IV only comes with a black rubber strap, the standard version also comes with an extra one (your choice of white or orange).

2025 Blancpain Ladybird Colors Models
The Blancpain Ladybird Colors Saint-Valentin 2025 continues the brand’s 25-year tradition of making limited-edition love-themed ladies’ watches. While announced in December 2024, it was designed for Valentine’s Day 2025 and made available to the market in January 2025. Limited to 14 pieces, the Blancpain Ladybird Colors Saint-Valentin 2025 features a 34.9mm 18K white gold case adorned with diamonds, totaling over 2 carats across the entire watch.
The asymmetrical Roman numeral hour markers have a deep red color achieved through five meticulous applications, complemented by a mother-of-pearl backdrop. The moonphase indicator has a distinctly feminine face accompanied by golden hearts. The watch is powered by the automatic caliber 1153L, boasting a 100-hour power reserve and a silicon balance spring. With its red alligator strap and “Cupid’s arrow” seconds hand, this timepiece unapologetically leans into the Valentine’s Day vibe.
If you’d like a similar watch with a little less emphasis on the love theme, Blancpain also released the Blancpain Ladybird Colors Royal Purple. It also has a mother-of-pearl dial, but with purple Roman numerals, and it’s available with either a white gold or red gold case for $38,300.

2025 Blancpain x Swatch Scuba Fifty Fathoms Releases
In June 2025, Blancpain and Swatch released a (relatively) understated Scuba Fifty Fathoms watch in a tasteful deep olive green colorway. The Scuba Fifty Fathoms Green Abyss, like the Pink Ocean Scuba Fifty Fathoms, comes on a two-piece strap made of recycled fishing nets.
The Pink Ocean Scuba Fifty Fathoms was released earlier in 2025, marking the two sister companies’ most brightly colored collaboration yet. While these watches are more Swatch than Blancpain, they still honor the Blancpain tradition of never using quartz movements. The cheap but efficient mechanical Sistem51 movement inside offers a 90-hour power reserve. While Blancpain remains one of the most underrated luxury watch brands, we’ve discussed previously how the Swatch collaborations could help Blancpain.
The Pink Ocean Scuba Fifty Fathoms features a 42.3mm Bioceramic case and a unidirectional pink bezel illuminated with Grade A Super-LumiNova. The pink theme extends to the dial, hands, and even the strap. Priced at $420, these watches are only offered at select Swatch dealers.
