Breitling Launches Limited Edition Classic AVI Chronograph 42 for Super Bowl LIX
On July 18th, this year’s Super Bowl champs, the Philadelphia Eagles, gathered for the traditional annual ring ceremony, where players and staff members each received a green sapphire and diamond-encrusted Super Bowl ring. But we’re more interested in another drop that took place that very same day: a special Breitling Classic Avi Chronograph 42 Super Bowl LIX Philadelphia Eagles Limited Edition watch. It’s the latest in the brand’s NFL-adjacent releases, this time decked out with a rich midnight green dial in homage to the team’s signature hue, and limited to 59 pieces (LIX). Let’s take a closer look at the watch’s specs, its association with this year’s Super Bowl MVP, Jalen Hurts, and the brand’s storied past with the NFL.

Overview
First things first, the watch. Last year, Breitling celebrated the NFL’s 104th anniversary with a couple of notable releases, including a limited edition rose gold Chronomat in homage to former NFL quarterback and long-time brand ambassador Boomer Esiason, followed later in the year by a special NFL Chronomat collection featuring 32 different watches for each team in the league and limited quantities of 104 each.
This year, the brand is focusing on the Classic Avi Chronograph, a vintage-inspired watch with a modern movement, the self-winding caliber 23. It has similar specs to other 42mm Classic Avi watches, including a bi-directional bezel, a tri-compax dial, and a case measuring 14.7mm thick and 48mm from lug-to-lug. The case is furnished in 18k red gold and comes on either a matching red gold bracelet or a calfskin leather strap. Furthermore, the watch is waterproof up to 100 meters and features a scratch-resistant and glare-proof sapphire crystal. Features special to this limited-edition watch include an Eagles-green dial with contrasting white sub-dials, the team logo at 9 o’clock, and special case back engravings of the Super Bowl LIX logo and limited production number.
Jalen Hurts Gets 01/59 from Breitling
At the center of the entire campaign is Jalen Hurts, this year’s Super Bowl MVP and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback. The former Sooner was gifted watch 01/59 from the series to celebrate his role in this year’s championship, which includes his first Super Bowl win, first MVP title, and role as the first quarterback to win a Super Bowl wearing the jersey number 1. He is the latest in a long line of NFLers to wear a Breitling or partner with the brand, joining the likes of Eli Manning, Trevor Lawrence, and Victor Cruz, among many others.
