Tudor Pro Cycling Watches: 4 Special Black Chronographs

Powerfunk Monday, June 30th, 2025 5 min. read

In 2022, just six years after winning his second gold medal at the Rio Olympics, retired Swiss pro cyclist Fabian Cancellara started his own cycling team. Thanks to a partnership with Tudor, the team would soon begin racing as Tudor Pro Cycling, and they now compete at the second-highest level of professional cycling in the world. A rare PVD-coated Black Bay Chrono model was made for team members, which makes sense because the team is brimming with Swiss riders and Swiss equipment. In May 2024, Tudor unveiled a special “Cycling Edition” of their Pelagos FXD Chrono with red accents, and they’ve since released pink and yellow versions too. Here’s all the key info on these four Tudor Pro Cycling watches.

Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono Cycling Edition ref. 25827KN

The original Pelagos FXD Chrono “Cycling Edition” debuted in 2024 with the same black fixed-bar 43mm carbon composite case as the Pelagos FXD Chrono “Alinghi Red Bull Racing Edition” released in 2023. Like every Tudor chronograph powered by the Breitling-based MT5813 caliber, the minute register goes up to 45 minutes. The black date wheel is a nice touch. Usually Pelagos models have rotating bezels; interestingly, the cycling models have a fixed titanium 60-minute bezel with a carbon composite insert.

In fact this was the first fixed 60-minute bezel Tudor ever made. Another interesting element is the “snail” tachymeter around the edge of the dial. The Tudor Pro Cycling team is fast, but no human has ever ridden faster than 65 kilometers per hour over a whole kilometer. So, the inner rungs are more useful to cyclists–a tachymeter showing only speeds between 60kph and 400kph would be pointless. The crown and pushers are DLC-coated titanium.

You can get one from your local authorized Tudor dealer for $5,600. Although they were hard to get at first, they’re now more attainable. The other three Tudor Pro Cycling watches, however, are much harder to get.

Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono “Pink” ref. 25827KN

The Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono “Pink” is a 300-piece limited edition watch celebrating the Giro d’Italia (“Tour of Italy”), featuring the same lightweight carbon composite case, titanium pushers, steel caseback, and Breitling-based chronograph movement as the red-accented version. The pink accents pay homage to the iconic Maglia Rosa (“pink shirt”) worn by the current overall leader of the Giro d’Italia.

This pink edition is just like the Tudor Pro Cycling watch from 2024 but with pink accents
The Chrono “Pink” was the third special watch related to Tudor Pro Cycling, and one of many colorful 2025 Tudor releases.

As a UCI ProTeam, Tudor Pro Cycling does not have automatic entry into the Giro d’Italia (which is reserved for WorldTeams), but they can be invited as a “wildcard” team by the race organizers. For 2025, Tudor Pro Cycling indeed received a wildcard invitation and raced in the Giro d’Italia for the second consecutive year. They placed 7th out of 23 teams.

If you’re lucky enough to get one at retail, the price tag of the Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono “Pink” is $5,600, but expect this to be basically unobtainable. It’s essentially a pink-accented version of the Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono Cycling Edition that debuted in 2024, and there’s one more colorway of this model for us to mention.

Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono “Yellow” ref. 25827KN

The latest addition to the Tudor Pro Cycling collection is the Pelagos FXD Chrono “Yellow,” another 300-piece run, this time unveiled to mark the Tudor Pro Cycling Team’s first Tour de France appearance and also honor Fabian Cancellara. The caseback engraving is pretty cool, featuring the same cycling imagery as on the pink version. It’s also individually numbered–with #7 being reserved for Mr. Cancellara himself.

Cancellara is widely regarded as one of the greatest time trialists of the early 2000’s, so it’s cool that he’s making a professional return to the Tour de France after all these years. I expect these yellow Cancellera Tudors will be hard to get from an authorized dealer, but there’s one special Tudor Pro Cycling-related watch that’s even harder to find.

Tudor Black Bay Chrono Dark Cycling Edition ref. 79360DK

In 2019, Tudor released a special edition of the Black Bay Chrono with a full black PVD treatment on its case and bracelet to celebrate the New Zealand All Blacks rugby team–ref. 79360DK. They made about 1,200 and they sold for double MSRP for a while. The market has cooled on those (along with PVD-coated watches as a whole) but there’s another 79360DK that’s much rarer: the one made exclusively for members of the Tudor Pro Cycling team in 2022.

Instead of a bracelet, the Black Bay Chrono Dark Cycling Edition has a Velcro NATO strap with a distinctive red stripe. Also, unlike the All Blacks version, it features red subdial rings and a red Tudor shield logo. It goes well with the red depth rating. Unfortunately, like all PVD-coated watches, its finish will doubtlessly show flakey silvery patches after a few years of regular wear. Regardless, it’s a slick-looking watch. Does the Tudor Pro Cycling Team Wear These When Racing?

Not usually. If you scroll deeper through photos of Tudor’s cyclists, you’ll see that they almost never wear watches at all when they race. Cyclists at this level are obsessive about aerodynamics and weight so that’s understandable. But, some have worn their Tudors in competitive races! “Some of the riders even wore their team-issued Pelagos FXD Chrono ‘Cycling Edition’ while racing” in 2024 National Road Cycling Championship events according to Tudor. Best of luck to them.
