Richard Mille Extra Flat Titanium Watch: RM67-01
The Richard Mille RM 67-01 Extra Flat is a true statement piece. Sporting a tonneau case in titanium with a skeletonized dial, this watch is striking and attractive without being as over-the-top as some other RM offerings.
It took a lot of time craft this piece, particularly the skeletonized movement, which is only 3.6mm tall. That was quite impressive in 2016, although it’s no longer one of the thinnest watches in the world. Plus it takes more than five days just to make the case, and the bezel alone involves 68 separate stamping processes.
Both the Grade 5 titanium bridges and hand-beveled baseplate have undergone electro-plasma treatment. This watch has big, bold Arabic numeral hour markers, a vertical date display at 5 o’clock, and pointy hands. Powering this watch is an automatic caliber CRMA6 with a platinum rotor. Although it initially retailed for $85,000, you can expect to pay roughly twice that to buy this Richard Mille secondhand.
