Luxury Bazaar Partners with Courtyard.io for Discovery Watch Shopping

Having been in business for 25 years now, at Luxury Bazaar we’ve worked with countless names in the luxury watch space. But today we’re announcing a partnership a bit different than anything we’ve done before. Starting today at 1PM, you’ll be able to buy “discovery packs” of luxury watches on Courtyard.io. Those watches have been purchased from Luxury Bazaar to be added to the Courtyard.io platform. Launched in 2023, Courtyard has already become a trusted name in the discovery shopping card space with over a million dollars in sales per day–much of that from the Pokemon card market. We think this partnership with Courtyard.io will offer a fun new buying experience that will hopefully resonate with some younger budding enthusiasts as well as some seasoned luxury watch buyers.

How Does it Work Exactly?

Basically, you can go to Courtyard’s watch section and buy a luxury watch “discovery pack” for $10,000 that contains a single luxury watch, guaranteed to be worth between $8,000-$90,000 dollars. You can use code LUXURYBAZAAR5 to get 5% off for now. When you “rip open” this digital discovery pack, your watch is revealed.

You can then choose to have that watch shipped to you immediately, or leave it stored in the vault for as long as you want–with no storage fees.

But you don’t even have to receive the physical watch at all–you can cash it out instantly for 95% of market value at any time thanks to Courtyard’s buyback program. To me the most interesting part of the platform is this easy (I believe Silicon Valley guys would say “frictionless”) trade-in aspect. And if you’d prefer to simply list the watch for sale to try and get top dollar for it, you can do that too.

Let’s say you buy two $10,000 packs and get a watch worth $8,000 and a watch worth $15,000, for example. If you don’t really love the watches, you can simply trade the watches back in using the 95% buyback offer and buy two new packs. Or perhaps you want to wear one watch and keep the other stored. The choice is yours.

There are hundreds of watches for sale via this platform and the fair market value for each is $10,000 on average. You can pay for your discovery pack with either a credit card or USDC.

If you’re a luxury watch fan, at this point you’re probably wondering what watches you have a chance to get with one of Courtyard’s $10,000 luxury watch packs. Here are the initial five “chase” watches:

  1. Rolex Daytona 126518LN with Turquoise Dial
  2. Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5168G in Khaki Green
  3. Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar 4300V in Rose Gold
  4. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo 16202BC
  5. Rolex Daytona 126519LN “Ghost”

Aside from those watches, you can expect to receive high-end watches from top luxury watch brands, always in excellent (or better) condition with the full box and papers. Think Rolex Submariner, Omega Speedmaster, IWC Ingenieur, Breitling Chronomat etc.

Is My Purchase Tied to a Real, Specific Watch?

Yes, your pack purchase signifies your real, legal ownership of a specific watch that exists in the Courtyard.io vault. The underlying blockchain used by Courtyard.io (based on Polygon, for you crypto nerds who were wondering) creates clean bookkeeping and records of ownership.

But this is not a decentralized system–ultimately Courtyard safely controls the issuing and redemption of the items purchased.

Combining expensive watches with the world’s #1 Pokemon card trading platform might sound odd, but then again, 25 years ago when we started Luxury Bazaar, people thought selling luxury goods on eBay was weird too. And that worked out well for us. Let me know what you think!
