The rumors had been swirling since earlier in the year, but now it’s confirmed Rolex has discontinued the Celebration dials for all its Oyster Perpetual watches. Specifically, the Oyster Perpetual 41 ref. 124300-0008, Oyster Perpetual 36 ref. 126000-0009, and Oyster Perpetual 31 ref. 277200-0010.

The Rolex Celebration dial made its debut in 2023, merging all the colors offered through the Oyster Perpetual collection into one snazzy, not-very-Rolex, dial. Love it or hate it, it became a highly sought-after Rolex design with high premiums on the secondary market — and now that it’s been discontinued, values will likely go up even more.

More Discontinued Rolex Oyster Perpetual Dials for 2025

Aside from the Celebration dial being discontinued, the entire Rolex Oyster Perpetual line received a major dial shake-up with some new dial options added (beige, lavender, and pistachio) and others dropped from the catalog. Bright Black and Bright Blue (both with sunray finish) have now been replaced with Black and Blue (both with lacquered finish) across all five sizes. Similarly, all the sunray Pink dials have been discontinued, leaving the lacquered Candy Pink Rolex Oyster Perpetual as the only rose-hued option within the collection.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 Ref. 124300 is Discontinued

Rolex has axed the Oyster Perpetual 41 ref. 124300 and replaced it with the updated Oyster Perpetual 41 ref. 134300. Compared to the now-discontinued Oyster Perpetual 41 reference, the newer version benefits from a slightly redesigned case, slimmer clasp, and slightly larger crown, resulting in more elegant proportions for Rolex’s largest OP model. The Oyster Perpetual 41 ref. 124300 was introduced in 2020.

In 2025, Rolex discontinued all Day-Date 36 watches that paired fluted bezels and diamond-set bracelets. However, fans of this natural stone dial, fear not — it’s still available on the yellow gold (ref. 128238-0071), Everose gold (ref. 128235-0064), and platinum (ref. 128236-0011) models.

Deepsea Challenge 126067-0001

Now this is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it 2025 Rolex discontinuation. The Deepsea Challenge ref. 126067-0001 has been dropped in favor of 126067-0002. What’s the change, you ask? A tiny detail on the dial where the “DEEPSEA CHALLENGE” inscription on the dial has moved from its original spot under “OYSTER PERPETUAL” to the bottom portion of the dial, right above the depth rating. These two versions will likely be known as Mark I and Mark II versions in the future, if/when the Deepsea Challenge ref. 126067 becomes a collectible vintage.

Falcon’s Eye Rolex Yacht-Master 42 Discontinued in 2025

The Rolex Yacht-Master 42 Ref. 226659 with Falcon’s Eye dial is a striking take on the brand’s luxury nautical watch. Released in 2022, it features a swirling, semi-precious stone dial known for its deep blue and gray tones with subtle chatoyancy. The 42mm white gold case is paired with a black Cerachrom ceramic bezel and Oysterflex rubber strap. As of 2025, Rolex has officially discontinued the Yacht-Master 42 Falcon’s Eye, making this short-lived reference especially collectible.

Daytona Le Mans in Yellow Gold

Rolex has never been one to go down the special edition route (looking at you Omega)…that is, until recent years. In 2023, the Crown dropped a Le Mans Daytona in white gold in honor of the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. The watch featured a white gold case, white gold Oyster bracelet, and black Cerachrom ceramic bezel. Details included a red “100” on the tachymeter scale, vintage Paul Newman Daytona-inspired subdials, and a 24-hour totalizer instead of the traditional 12-hour one — all nods to the one-day race. The Le Mans Daytona was even fitted with a sapphire caseback (again, a rarity in Rolex’s catalog) to show off the updated Caliber 4132 inside the case.

As expected, the Le Mans Daytona was a hit — but Rolex discontinued it the following year. Or more accurately, replaced it. In 2024, a yellow gold Le Mans Daytona swiftly took its place, retaining all the hallmark design traits but now rendered in 18k yellow gold. And in a move many saw coming, the yellow gold Le Mans Daytona joins the list of discontinued Rolex watches in 2025, this time giving way to an Everose gold version.
