Basilia Jewellery and Watch Fair Set for June 2027
Between the leading annual watch industry trade show, Watches and Wonders Geneva, and other events like Geneva Watch Days, Dubai Watch Week and LVMH Watch Week, there is no shortage of luxury watch fairs to attend nowadays. But a new jewelry and watch show has been announced, called the Basilia Jewellery and Watch Fair, and its inaugural event will occur in April 2027. MCH Group, responsible for shows like Art Basel and the once-dominant Baselworld, is putting on the show in collaboration with Informa Markets, a major player in the jewelry industry trade show world.

How Many Watch Brands Will Be Exhibiting at Basilia Jewellery and Watch Fair?
While no specific brands have yet been confirmed, MCH and Informa are hoping for at least 100 exhibitors from the watch industry. They also expect over 200 exhibitors from the jewelry industry, and 100 from the raw gem space. These 400+ exhibitors will be organized in a “city” layout.
When and Where is the Basilia Jewellery and Watch Fair 2027?
The Basilia Watch and Jewelry Fair is set to occur on April 2027 in Basel Hall 2 in Basel, Switzerland. The exact start date and duration are yet to be announced.

How is it Different Than Watches and Wonders?
The Basilia Watch and Jewelry Fair will apparently be different than Watches and Wonders Geneva in four key ways:
- Mostly jewelry-focused (only 25% of exhibitors will be watch brands)
- Lower price segment, generally (expect more “microbrands” in the ~$1,000 space rather than top luxury watch brands in the $10,000+ segment)
- More commerce-focused (e.g. more B2B sales and industry connections, less focus on press/consumer announcements)
- Much more focus on Asian exhibitors (and more non-Swiss brands in general)
MCH Group famously overplayed their hand in the Covid lockdown era, causing brands like Rolex and Patek Philippe to flee their once-industry-defining Baselworld fair, ultimately leading to its total demise. But to their credit, MCH has been quite successful with their Art Basel shows recently, and they seem to be positioning Basilia sufficiently differently from other big watch shows.

The fact that MCH is collaborating with Informa Markets, a specialist in business-to-business trade shows, also indicates that the show will be less consumer-focused than other events. They’re making a big deal out of the cool “city-like” layout they have planned for the event, but I’m more interested in seeing which watch brands will show up. There are so many microbrands in the $500-$1,500 wristwatch space in particular these days that I could easily see a successful trade show heavily emphasizing them. We’ll certainly let you know more as we know more!
