Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Miramar & Steel Edition

Release Date: July 2025

IWC adds two new light blue chronographs to its Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 lineup — one in colored ceramic and the other in stainless steel. Both feature a colorway named “TOP GUN Miramar,” developed in collaboration with Pantone and inspired by the light blue t-shirts worn by TOP GUN instructors under their flight suits.

The first model, limited to 1,000 pieces, is the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Miramar (Ref. IW389409), housed in a 41.9mm light blue ceramic case with a matching dial and rubber strap. The second is the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 (Ref. IW388117), which marks the first time IWC has introduced a Pantone-matched dial color to a steel model. It features a 41mm stainless steel case paired with the same blue rubber strap and dial, along with rhodium-plated hands filled with Super-LumiNova.

The ceramic Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Miramar runs on Caliber 69380, whereas the steel Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 is powered by Caliber 69385, both offering 46 hours of power reserve, a column wheel chronograph, and day/date displays. The ceramic version includes a titanium caseback engraved with the TOP GUN logo and features a soft-iron inner cage for magnetic protection; conversely, the steel version is equipped with a sapphire display caseback.

Portugieser Tourbillon Rétrograde Chronograph

IWC expands its high-complication offerings with the Portugieser Tourbillon Rétrograde Chronograph, a limited edition piece that combines three complications: a flying minute tourbillon, a retrograde date, and a flyback chronograph.

The 43.5mm case is made from a new IWC proprietary gold alloy, Armor Gold, which is stated to offer greater hardness and scratch resistance than conventional gold. The Obsidian-colored dial is built up through a 60-step process and 15 layers of lacquer, resulting in a dark and glossy finish. Gold-plated hands and solid gold appliqués finish off the dressy dial.

Powering the watch is the automatic Caliber 89900, visible through the sapphire caseback and fitted with an 18k gold rotor. It delivers a 68-hour power reserve, beats at 4 Hz, features a stop-seconds mechanism, and uses a silicon escapement coated with IWC’s proprietary Diamond Shell® technology to reduce friction and improve energy flow. At 6 o’clock on the dial is the flying minute tourbillon, built from 56 components and weighing just 0.675 grams. On the opposite side at 9 o’clock is the retrograde date display, while the flyback chronograph display at 12 o’clock consolidates elapsed minutes and hours into a single totalizer.

Limited to 100 pieces, the new-for-2025 IWC Portugieser Tourbillon Rétrograde Chronograph in Armor Gold is priced at $145,000.

It’s matched with a brown dial and beige rubber strap with a textile inlay, delivering a true tone-on-tone aesthetic. The dial markings and hands are coated in Super-LumiNova for low-light visibility, and the caseback is crafted from lightweight titanium and engraved with the customary TOP GUN logo.

Big Pilot “Le Petit Prince” Tourbillons

Release Date: May 2025

IWC expands its long-running “Le Petit Prince” series with two new high-complication Big Pilot watches — one in blue ceramic and the other in platinum.

Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon Le Petit Prince
Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon Le Petit Prince (Image: IWC)

The Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon Le Petit Prince (Ref. IW504901) marks the first time the brand has paired its blue ceramic case with this specific movement. The 46.5mm watch features a blue dial, gold-plated hands and appliques, a blue rubber strap, and an 18k 5N gold crown and caseback ring. Inside is the IWC Caliber 51950, which combines a perpetual calendar with a flying tourbillon. The moon phase complication replaces the moon with a rendering of the Little Prince on his asteroid — a motif repeated on the solid gold rotor visible through the caseback. Only 100 pieces will be made, each priced at $113,000.

Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41

Release Dates: April 2025

One of IWC’s biggest 2025 releases is the new Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41 — the first time the modern Ingenieur is paired with IWC’s in-house perpetual calendar movement. Officially known as Ref. IW344903, this stainless steel model brings together two major IWC milestones: the design language of the 1976 Ingenieur SL by Gerald Genta and the Kurt Klaus-designed perpetual calendar first introduced in 1985.

Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41
Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41 (Image: IWC)

The 41.6mm case (13.4mm thick) is fully stainless steel with brushed and polished surfaces, five bezel screws, and an integrated H-link bracelet with a butterfly clasp. The blue “Grid” dial is home to three calendar subdials displaying the date, day, month, moon phase, and leap year. The moonphase alone is so precise that it will only deviate by a day after 577.5 years. All calendar displays are fully synchronized and can be adjusted via the crown.

Inside is the IWC-manufactured Caliber 82600 with Pellaton winding, ceramic components, and a 60-hour power reserve. It’s visible through a sapphire caseback, finished with Geneva stripes, blued screws, and circular graining. The retail price of the new Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41 watch is set at $38,900.

18k Gold Ingenieur Automatic 40

Release Dates: April 2025

At Watches & Wonders 2025, IWC introduced a more luxurious take on the modern Ingenieur 40 with a full 18k 5N gold case and bracelet paired with a black “Grid” dial. Officially known as the Ingenieur Automatic 40 Ref. IW328702, this rose gold model builds on the collection’s 2023 redesign, which drew inspiration from Gérald Genta’s original 1970s Ingenieur SL.

The 40mm case (10.4mm thick, 100m water resistant) features the same angular architecture and integrated bracelet silhouette of the preceding versions in steel and titanium, now elevated with precious metal construction. As always, the case showcases a mix of satin-brushed and polished surfaces, topped with the customary five-screw studded bezel. The black dial — with a framed date window at 3 o’clock — features the collection’s signature grid-like texture with gold-applied markers and gold-plated hands filled with Super-LumiNova.

Around the back, a sapphire crystal caseback reveals the IWC-manufactured Caliber 32111, an automatic movement with an impressive 120-hour power reserve, and decorated with Geneva stripes, blued screws, and a gold-plated rotor. With this solid gold execution, IWC takes the sporty, industrial look of the revived Ingenieur into more opulent territory and priced it at a cool $48,900.

Green Dial Ingenieur Automatic 40 “Sonny Hayes”

Release Dates: April 2025

To mark its appearance in the upcoming Apple Original Film F1®, IWC has released a special edition of the Ingenieur Automatic 40 inspired by the watch worn by Brad Pitt’s character, Sonny Hayes. In the movie, Hayes sports a one-off vintage-style Ingenieur SL with a vivid green dial — and now, fans can get a similar look with the new Ref. IW328908.

Limited to 1,000 pieces, the Sonny Hayes edition features a 40mm (10.8mm) stainless steel case and the customary integrated bracelet, paired with a green dial with the signature “Grid”-patterned dial and furnished with gold hands and indices. The familiar five-screw bezel and butterfly clasp remain, along with a soft-iron inner case to protect against magnetic fields — a nod to the Ingenieur’s original tool watch roots.

Ingenieur Automatic 42 Black Ceramic

Release Dates: April 2025

IWC adds a stealthy new look and a new case size to the modern Ingenieur lineup with the debut of the Ingenieur Automatic 42 Ref. IW338903 in black ceramic. This is the first time the revived Ingenieur range has been offered in a 42mm format, expanding the collection beyond the 40mm editions that launched in 2023.

Ingenieur Automatic 42 Black Ceramic
Ingenieur Automatic 42 Black Ceramic (Image: IWC)

Crafted entirely from black zirconium oxide ceramic, the 42mm (11.6mm thick) case, bezel, crown guards, and crown all benefit from the material’s light weight, hardness, and scratch resistance. Even the integrated bracelet is made from ceramic, featuring a mix of satin finishing, sandblasting, and polished accents for added contrast. IWC Schaffhausen’s ceramic expertise dates back almost four decades — in fact, the brand introduced the world’s first wristwatch with a black zirconium oxide ceramic case in 1986.

The black dial features the Ingenieur’s characteristic grid-like texture with blackened hands and applied hour markers, all filled with Super-LumiNova for low-light visibility. Inside is the IWC-manufactured Caliber 82110, equipped with a Pellaton winding system, ceramic components, and a 60-hour power reserve. The movement is visible through a tinted sapphire crystal caseback.

Ingenieur Automatic 35

Release Dates: April 2025

IWC continues to expand the modern Ingenieur collection in 2025 with a more compact and refined offering: the Ingenieur Automatic 35. Available in three versions — black or silver-plated dials in stainless steel, and a full 18k 5N gold model with a matching gold dial — this new lineup brings the signature design cues of the larger Ingenieur 40 into a sleeker and female-friendly 35mm format.

Ingenieur Automatic 35 IW324903 (Image: IWC)

Despite the smaller dimensions (35mm diameter and 9.4mm thick), the watches retain the distinctive features that define the contemporary Ingenieur style: the integrated bracelet, five-screw bezel, and detailed grid dials. The bracelets showcase polished center links and satin-brushed H-links with polished edges, fitted with a butterfly folding clasp.

Big Pilot’s Watch Shock Absorber Tourbillon Skeleton XPL

Release Date: April 2025

IWC pushes technical watchmaking even further in 2025 with the debut of the Big Pilot’s Watch Shock Absorber Tourbillon Skeleton XPL IW357701, the first time the brand’s patented SPRIN-g PROTECT® shock absorber system is used to protect a tourbillon movement.

IW357701
Big Pilot’s Watch Shock Absorber Tourbillon Skeleton XPL IW357701 (Image: IWC)

The 44mm case is crafted from Ceratanium, an advanced material developed by IWC that combines the lightness of titanium with the scratch resistance of ceramic. Inside is the re-engineered IWC Caliber 82915, featuring a flying minute tourbillon visible at 6 o’clock and protected by a custom-designed cantilever spring made from bulk metallic glass. The movement is extensively skeletonized — including the plates, bridges, and rotor — to reduce mass and improve shock absorption. During testing, tourbillon-equipped movements survived shocks in excess of 10,000 g.

The dial takes a stripped-down approach, reduced to a slim black chapter ring marked with a minute scale and the Big Pilot’s signature triangle at 12 o’clock. In keeping with the watch’s skeletonized movement, the hands are hollowed out too — still in the classic IWC pilot watch shape and treated with Super-LumiNova® for legibility in the dark. Paired with a black rubber strap and Ceratanium pin buckle, this limited edition of 100 pieces is priced at CHF 180,000.

Release Date: April 2025

IWC expands its Performance Chronograph series in 2025 with the introduction of the Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month — the first Performance Chronograph with a perpetual calendar complication. Housed in a 43mm Ceratanium® case with matching pushers, crown, and bracelet, the watch combines the lightness of titanium with the scratch resistance of ceramic. The black ceramic bezel includes a tachymeter scale, while the hammered black dial adds texture and depth to the all-black color scheme.

The highlight here is the digital perpetual calendar display, featuring large gold-colored discs for the date at 9 o’clock and month at 3 o’clock — a nod to IWC’s 19th-century Pallweber pocket watches. There’s also a leap year indicator at 6 o’clock. Despite the four-disc configuration, the entire calendar can be adjusted via the crown. Additional functions include a chronograph with flyback, with hours and minutes tracked by a combined totalizer at 12 o’clock.

For 2025, IWC expands its lineup of high-performance pilot’s watches with the Big Pilot’s Watch Shock Absorber XPL Toto Wolff x Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team — a bold timepiece with a mouthful of a name, engineered to withstand extreme forces. Inspired by the intense conditions of Formula 1, this 44mm limited-edition release is built with IWC’s SPRIN-g PROTECT shock absorber system, which shields the movement from high g-forces. Limited to just 100 pieces, the watch takes direct inspiration from Toto Wolff, CEO and principal of the Mercedes-AMG, who was spotted wearing a prototype during the heat of past race weekends.

Encased in Ceratanium, IWC’s proprietary lightweight yet ultra-durable material that combines the best properties of titanium and ceramic, the Shock Absorber XPL features an all-black case, a black grain-textured dial, and newly designed black triangular hands with Super-LumiNova edging. The floating minute track adds a modern technical edge, while PETRONAS green accents (most notably on the Super-LumiNova-coated shock absorber spring) reinforce the Formula 1 connection.

Powering the watch is the IWC-manufactured Caliber 32101, an automatic movement with a 120-hour power reserve. Its plates, bridges, and oscillating mass have been blackened to match the stealthy aesthetic, and the tinted sapphire crystal caseback features Toto Wolff’s signature. Completing the look is an integrated green rubber strap, with an additional black rubber strap included.

Red Gold Portugieser Automatic 40

Release Date: January 2025

In 2024, IWC introduced a subtly refreshed line of its Portugieser Automatic watches, in both 40mm and 42mm sizes. For 2025, a red gold version of the Portugiser Automatic 40 with a silver dial joins the mix, adding a classic luxurious option for those who want it. Aside from the metal and dial color change, everything else remains the same — which is to say 40.4mm diameter by 12.4mm thickness for the case, a dial with a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock, double box-glass sapphire crystals, and IWC Caliber 82200 inside the watch with Pellaton automatic winding and 60 hours of power reserve.

The red gold Portugieser Automatic 40 (ref. IW358404) is paired with a Santoni dark brown alligator leather strap, which is furnished with a matching red gold pin buckle.

For 2025, IWC also applied the red gold, silver dial, and brown alligator strap treatment to the larger Portugieser Automatic 42. Though the colorway is the same, inside the 42.4mm (12.9mm thick) case is a slightly different dial layout with two subdials — one for the running seconds at 9 o’clock and the other for the power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock. There’s also a date window at 6 o’clock.

The power reserve indicator comes in handy since the IWC Caliber 52011 movement with Pellaton automatic winding nestled inside the case (and visible through the sapphire caseback) supplies an impressive 7 days of power reserve. In addition to size, functions, and caliber, another difference between the 40mm and the 42mm version is that the latter includes a red gold folding buckle rather than a pin buckle.

Release Date: January 2025

Following up on its successful vibrant Petronas green Pilot’s Watch Chronograph, IWC is back again with another official team watch to celebrate its longstanding partnership with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One™ Team. Meet the Pilot’s Watch Mark XX Mercedes-AMG Petronas watch, featuring the same striking black and teal green colorway as the first.

As before, the case is crafted from lightweight titanium, but compared to the chronograph version, the time/date Mark XX is more compact, clocking in at a respectable 40mm in diameter and 10.6mm thick. The black dial is home to the customary green-lumed indices and hands, which match the rubber strap flawlessly. However, if the bright strap is a bit much for some occasions, it can easily be swapped out thanks to the IWC EasX-CHANGE System. Powering the Pilot’s Watch Mark XX Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One™ Team watch is the self-winding Caliber 32111 with 120 hours of power reserve.
