Cartier 2025 Releases
Cartier released several notable novelties at Watches and Wonders this year, including a new Privé collection featuring the Tank à Guichets, the return of the automatic Tank Louis Cartier, and several mesmerizing gem-set watches to show off their jewelry and watchmaking expertise. Here’s everything you should know about the Cartier 2025 watch releases.

XL Cartier Tank Louis Cartier Automatic
Last September, Cartier scaled things down for the Tank LC, releasing the Mini model in yellow gold and with a petite 24mm x 16.5mm case. Now, Cartier is taking things in the opposite direction with a brand-new XL model, and they’re shaking things up even more by equipping the watch with an automatic mechanical movement for the first time in a long time. That movement is the caliber 1899 MC, which Cartier created in 2019 and shrunk down for the Americaine. Previously, the current production collection was only available with a manual winding or quartz movement. It appears the larger case was developed to accommodate the automatic caliber 1899 MC.
In true LC fashion, the XL model is only available in precious metal (yellow or rose gold) and on a leather strap. Moreover, it features a case measuring 38.1mm x 27.75mm x 8.18mm. For further context, the large model measures 33.7mm x 25.5mm and 6.6mm thick for the manual-winding model and 33.7mm x 25.5mm by 6.3mm thick for the quartz model. Cartier has given the new XL automatic model a different dial to distinguish it from other options in the LC catalog, featuring a striking sunburst motif. Quartz models have a “grained silver dial,” while manual-winding models are usually paired with a “silvered beaded dial.”

2025 Cartier Privé Tank à Guichets
Every year, Cartier revives a model from its archives under the Cartier Privé collection in limited quantities. Last year, the spotlight was on the tonneau-shaped Cartier Tortue Privé. This year, the brand is setting its sights (again) on a lesser-known model originally released in 1928, the curious Tank à Guichets, with a digital time display. Before this year, the watch was a part of the Collection Privée Cartier Paris in 2005 in rose gold. The new releases recall the original 1920s model, featuring a brushed dial face with apertures for digital hours and minutes. The winding crown is positioned at 12 o’clock. Furthermore, Cartier developed a special movement for the watch, the caliber 9755 MC, a manual-winding mechanical movement with a jumping hour function and dragging minutes.
The new release will include two different options. The first is a set of models in yellow gold, rose gold, or platinum that recall the original Tank à Guichets layout, with the hour window placed squarely at 12 o’clock and minutes directly below it at 6 o’clock. The second option is a platinum model with limited quantities of 200 pieces, featuring the jumping hour window displayed on its side at 10 o’clock and the minute aperture at 4 o’clock. Both layouts are powered by the same caliber 9755 MC movement and feature the same case dimensions: 37.6mm x 24.8mm x 6mm. There is no word yet on how many Cartier plans to make for the first layout option.

Cartier Tressage Watch
In the 2025 Cartier Tressage collection, the line between jewelry and watches is blurred. These releases aren’t quite bangles, yet don’t follow the same design codes as a classic dress watch on a leather strap either. Instead, they are essentially a slim, rectangular case flanked on either side by intricate twists or braids. The new releases are home to four different models, each powered by a quartz movement and with a 56.2mm x 25.7mm x 11.5mm case, a leather strap secured by an ardillon buckle, and 30 meters of water resistance.
The four expressions include a two-tone yellow and white gold model with a diamond pave dial and gold and diamond twists on either side of the case, a black and gold model featuring gold twists and a black lacquered dial, a white gold model covered in more than 1,000 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 12.8 carats, and white gold and blue model with a diamond pave dial and diamond and sapphire twists.

Panthère Jewellery Watch
Like the Cartier Tressage, the new Panthère bangle jewellery watches challenge the boundaries of traditional watchmaking. The brand’s emblem, a sleek panther, pounces towards a watch on the opposite end of the bangle. The newest novelties include two variations, the first in yellow gold and with a more structural depiction of the panther. It features black lacquered spots, tsavorite eyes, and an onyx nose. In its gaze is a tiny square watch with a black dial, a diamond at the 12-hour marker, and a diamond bezel.
The other model is a white gold watch covered in more than 1,100 diamonds. This time, the eyes are made of emeralds, gazing towards a diamond-set watch face on the other end of the bangle. Onyx stones in a fur setting represent the panther’s spots. This technique includes folding the gold around the stones to create a fur-like texture.

2025 Panthère de Cartier
Several new gem-set Panthère de Cartier watches also debuted at this year’s show. While they each feature the same familiar Panthère silhouette, including the elegant square-shaped case and silky, multi-link bracelet, they have completely different identities. The first wears an abstract “coat,” combining tiger and zebra motifs via black and brown lacquer and gem-set stripes made of diamonds and orange and yellow spessartites. This model only has one variation, in rose gold and featuring a 36.5mm x 26.7mm x 6.8mm case.
The other additions are much tamer, featuring either a yellow gold or rose gold finish and one of two case sizes: 36.5mm x 26.7mm x 6.8mm or the slightly more petite 30.3mm x 22mm x 6.05mm. These “semi-paved” models feature a gradient of brilliant-cut diamonds on the bracelet, a dazzling diamond-encrusted bezel, and a classic Cartier Roman numeral dial decorated with sword-shaped hands. Each of the new Panthère de Cartier watches is powered by a quartz movement and has a 30-meter depth rating.

Richemont (the company who owns Cartier) is one of the main forces behind Watches and Wonders, so it’s no surprising Cartier had a strong showing there–at least in terms of high-end pieces. As always, we’ll keep you posted if Cartier releases anything new!
