All of the 2025 Urwerk Watch Releases So Far
Independent watchmaker Urwerk has built its reputation on inventing entirely new ways of displaying time, often through complex satellite systems and retrograde displays. Founded in 1997 by watchmaker Felix Baumgartner and designer Martin Frei, the brand produces only around 150 watches a year, each conceived as a modern “time machine” rather than a variation on traditional complications. That philosophy is on full display in the 2025 Urwerk lineup, which spans four very different creations: the kinetic drama of the UR-150 Blue Scorpion, the cloisonné artistry of the UR-100V Time and Culture III, the bronze-armored UR-101 T-Rex, and the ash-green titanium UR-100V Hunter Green. Together, these releases underscore why Urwerk remains one of the most original and unconventional forces in contemporary watchmaking. Keep reading for all the details about the 2025 Urwerk watch releases, complete with specs and pricing.

UR-150 Blue Scorpion
Release Date: September 2025
Urwerk has always thrived on mechanical theater, and the UR-150 Blue Scorpion delivers one of its most dramatic performances yet. First introduced in 2024 as the UR-150 Scorpion, the model now returns at Geneva Watch Days 2025 in a new blue execution that sharpens the look without changing the spectacle under the sapphire dome. This edition builds on the same satellite complication that pairs a rotating carousel of three-hour satellites with a retrograde minute hand sweeping across a 240° arc. At the top of the hour, the retrograde hand snaps back in a flash while each satellite simultaneously pivots 270°, realigning the next hour marker with near-instant precision. The entire sequence happens in 1/100th of a second — too fast to follow but impossible to ignore.

At the core of the display is the automatic Caliber UR-50.01. Its design draws on both automaton mechanics and modern regulation, with a cam-and-rack system working in tandem with a speed governor to control energy release. The aluminum satellites ride a brass flying carousel, each tilted at 10 degrees toward the wearer to improve legibility. The retrograde hand itself functions like a mechanical arm, framing the active satellite before disengaging and locking onto the next one in a perfectly timed handoff. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, the movement stores a 43-hour power reserve and is finished with a mix of satin brushing, sandblasting, shot-blasting, and circular graining, while the oscillating weight is hand-painted and treated with Super-LumiNova.

The case combines beadblasted steel with sandblasted titanium and measures 42.5mm wide, 51mm long, and 14.8mm thick, topped with a domed sapphire crystal. Rated to 50 meters of water resistance, the case flows into a supple hybrid rubber strap secured with a folding clasp. Despite its aggressive name, the Blue Scorpion emphasizes smooth, organic lines that contour the wrist, contrasting sharply with the sheer speed and precision of its mechanical choreography.
Limited to 50 pieces, the 2025 Urwerk UR-150 Blue Scorpion is priced at CHF 90,000 (approximately $112,000).

UR-100V Time and Culture III
Release Date: June 2025
For its latest chapter in the Time and Culture series, Urwerk has turned to Georgia, unveiling the one-of-a-kind UR-100V Time and Culture III. The project was created in collaboration with the David Kakabadze studio in Tbilisi, an atelier known for its cloisonné enamel and miniature painting. Previous models in the series drew on Native American and Mesopotamian symbolism, but this third edition celebrates the art and spirituality of the Georgian Orthodox tradition.

The case is crafted from 18k yellow gold, measuring 41mm wide, 49.7mm long, and 14mm thick. What sets this watch apart is its extraordinary dial: a cloisonné enamel composition inspired by frescoes in the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. It depicts Christ at the center surrounded by 12 celestial motifs, each representing cycles of time — from the months of the year to the signs of the zodiac. According to the brand, the decoration took 1,152 days to complete, with 19 different enamel colors fired 16 times at 750°C before the painting could be completed. The end result is a miniture work of art — in 24k gold.

Inside, the watch runs on the automatic Caliber UR-12.02, Urwerk’s satellite wandering hours movement. The aluminum hour satellites ride on beryllium-bronze Geneva crosses, rotating across an aluminum carousel, with the whole system supported by ARCAP alloy baseplates. A Windfänger airscrew regulates the rotor’s winding speed, while the movement beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and delivers a 48-hour power reserve.
A sapphire crystal dome protects the enamel dial, while the case is water-resistant to 30 meters. The UR-100V Time and Culture III is paired with an Alcantara and leather strap fastened by an 18k yellow gold pin buckle. A true pièce unique, this watch underscores Urwerk’s talent for marrying technical innovations with wildly imaginative artistry.

UR-101 T-Rex
Release Date: March 2025
Urwerk has revived one of its earliest designs with the new UR-101 T-Rex, giving the watch a scaly bronze armor that feels more prehistoric creature than futuristic machine. This is the third watch in the brand’s “T-Rex” series, following the UR-105 and UR-100, but it’s the first time the organic guilloché texture has been applied across the entire case rather than confined to the dial. The 41mm bronze case, which measures 11.86mm at its tallest point, is engraved, oxidized, and brushed to create a tactile surface that will develop a rich brown patina over time. Its asymmetric shape, inspired by the Millennium Falcon, curves to nestle comfortably on the wrist, with a crown puller “spoiler” extending from 12 o’clock for easier handling.

The 2025 Urwerk UR-101 T-Rex is powered by the automatic Caliber UR-1.01V, a modern reworking of the brand’s original wandering hours movement. Two rotating satellites sweep across a 180-degree arc, displaying the time in Urwerk’s signature format. Co-founder Felix Baumgartner points out that the design nods back to the first Urwerk calibers, created in collaboration with Svend Andersen, where solving the challenge of moving a heavy satellite carousel required the use of a Maltese cross mechanism.

The caseback is crafted from black PVD-coated steel, while the sapphire crystal is glareproofed and metallized. The watch is fitted with a black rubber strap lined with calfskin and secured by a DLC-coated steel pin buckle. Limited to 100 pieces, the 2025 Urwerk UR-101 T-Rex is priced at CHF 38,000 (Approximately $47,250).

UR-100V Magic T Hunter Green
Release Date: January 2025
Urwerk’s UR-100V series continues to evolve with the new-for-2025 “Hunter Green” edition, a full-titanium watch defined by its ash-green metallic tone. Depending on the light, the color shifts between green and grey, creating a subtle, almost patinated effect that gives the 41mm case and matching titanium bracelet a restrained, industrial feel. Measuring 49.7mm long and 14mm thick, the sandblasted and shot-blasted titanium construction emphasizes texture over polish, while the sapphire crystal dome ensures a clear view of the display.

As with other Urwerk UR-100V models, time is shown via Urwerk’s wandering hours system, powered here by the automatic Caliber UR-12.02. Forty jewels, an aluminum carousel, and beryllium-bronze Geneva crosses support the rotating satellites, which sweep across a 60-minute arc before handing off to the next hour. A Windfänger airscrew regulates the winding system, while the movement runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and supplies a 48-hour power reserve.
In addition to time, the UR-100V Magic T Hunter Green also displays astronomical data. A pair of indicators track the distance the Earth covers in 20 minutes: 555 kilometers on its axis and 35,740 kilometers along its orbit around the Sun. It’s a poetic reminder that the watch is not just a mechanical object but a silent measure of planetary motion.

The titanium bracelet, composed of 32 sandblasted and shot-blasted links, integrates seamlessly with the case and closes with a folding clasp, while the case’s water-resistance is rated to 30 meters. The 2025 Urwerk UR-100V Magic T Hunter Green is priced at $66,000.
