Pharrell Williams’ Richard Mille Watches
Between being a singer, songwriter, producer, actor, and Men’s Creative Director at Louis Vuitton, Pharrell Williams is also the founder of JOOPITER, a digital-first global auction house. His personal watch collection is well known, so it’s no surprise he’s channeled that taste into curating high-profile timepiece sales through his platform. JOOPITER’s latest watch auction, held in July 2025, featured all the heavy hitters such as Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Rolex, Cartier, and, of course, Richard Mille. Pharrell has been collecting RM watches for years, and his taste extends well beyond the classics. While he owns some of the brand’s more recognizable references, he’s also drawn to its more unconventional creations — watches that lean into Richard Mille’s more eccentric side. That enthusiasm eventually led to a full-fledged collaboration: the official Pharrell Williams Richard Mille watch. Let’s take a closer look at that piece, along with some of the other Richard Mille watches he’s been spotted wearing over the years.
The Largest Richard Mille that Pharrell Williams Owns: RM 031 High Performance
One of the more interesting Pharrell Williams Richard Mille watches is the RM 031 High Performance.
Created in 2012 and limited to just 10 pieces, the Richard Mille RM 031 features a round case (unusual for RM) that measures a gargantuan 50mm in diameter and 13.9mm thick. Despite its size, the titanium construction of the case and accompanying rubber strap help keep it manageable weight-wise.
Designed in pursuit of chronometric excellence, the RM 031’s manual-winding movement delivers an impressive accuracy rating of ±30 seconds a month, aided by a direct-impulse escapement developed by Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi (APRP).
RM 70-01 Alain Prost
Another unusual Richard Mille watch that we’ve seen Pharrell Williams wearing is the RM 70-01 Alain Prost, a piece that’s both aesthetically and technically unorthodox.
Introduced in 2017, the RM 70-01 was created in collaboration with cycling legend Alain Prost and features a distinctive asymmetrical case designed for comfort when gripping handlebars. Limited to 30 pieces, the watch incorporates a mechanical odometer capable of tracking up to 99,999 kilometers — a nod to its cycling inspiration — and runs on the manual-winding Caliber RMUL1 tourbillon movement.
RM 25-01 Manual Winding Tourbillon Chronograph Adventure
A collaboration between Richard Mille and action star Sylvester Stallone, the RM 25-01 Tourbillon Chronograph Adventure is as over-the-top as its name suggests — a watch built for survival in the most extreme environments. Housed in a massive 50.85mm case made from a mix of titanium and Carbon TPT, it’s fitted with a detachable compass bezel and includes a hermetically sealed compartment for water purification tablets. Inside is the manual-winding Caliber RM25-01 movement with a tourbillon, chronograph function, and 72-hour power reserve.
Pharrell wore the RM 25-01 to the European premiere of The Lion King in 2019, pairing the adventure-ready watch with a black-tie tuxedo — an unexpected match, to say the least.
RM UP-01 Ferrari
Pharrell Williams has also been seen wearing the RM UP-01 Ferrari (most notably, with a red strap), a watch that made waves in 2022 as the thinnest mechanical timepiece in the world at just 1.75mm thick. The grade 5 titanium case measures 51mm long by 39mm wide, yet all but disappears on the wrist thanks to its razor-thin profile.
Limited to 150 pieces, the RM UP-01 emerged from Richard Mille’s partnership with Ferrari — one of two models born from the collobaration. Powering the watch is the manual-winding caliber RMUP-01, developed in collaboration with Audemars Piguet Le Locle (formerly Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi), which displays hours and minutes alongside a function selector.
RM88 Tourbillon Smiley
Pharrell Williams also owns the RM 88 Tourbillon Smiley, one of Richard Mille’s most whimsical creations, and an apt choice for the man who brought us the song Happy. Introduced in 2022 and limited to 50 pieces, the RM 88 pairs the brand’s high-end watchmaking with a playful, three-dimensional dial scene built around the yellow Smiley face. Surrounding it are tiny sculptures — a rainbow, sun, pineapple, cactus, flamingo, and cocktail — each crafted from gold and hand-painted with vibrant colors.
The tonneau-shaped case is made from white ATZ ceramic with a red gold caseband, housing the manual-winding caliber CRMT7 tourbillon movement. Beyond the flying tourbillon, the watch incorporates a function selector and offers a 50-hour power reserve. With its unconventional mix of fine finishing and lighthearted artistry, the RM 88 is a technical showpiece that refuses to take itself too seriously.
RM 52-01 Skull
One of the most expensive Richard Mille watches on the market, the RM 52-01 Skull is an ultra-limited tourbillon model introduced in 2013, with only 30 pieces ever made. Pharrell Williams has been spotted wearing this striking piece, instantly recognizable for the oversized skull at the center of the dial, crafted from grade 5 titanium. The upper and lower jaws of the skull secure the movement, while the back of the skull forms the baseplate — a design that’s both structural and symbolic.
The case is a mix of black TZP ceramic for the bezel and caseback (pronounced grain, micro-blasted and hand-polished) with a carbon-nanotube middle case bonded to a black polymer. Inside is the manual-winding Caliber RM052 tourbillon, complete with a skull fashioned entirely from 18k red gold.
The “Cuban Link” Richard Mille Spotted on Pharrell Williams: RM 74-02 Tourbillon
Pharrell Williams has been spotted wearing not one but indeed, two different versions of the RM 74-01 Tourbillon watch — the original one in Gold Carbon TPT (black and gold colorway) from 2021 and the new-for-2025 model in Gold Quartz TPT (white and gold colorway). Plus, ever the fashionisto, he opts to wear his RM 74-01 on a Cuban-link gold bracelet.
Inside the 52.63mm x 34.40mm x 13.05mm tonneau-shaped cases of these two tourbillon Richard Mille models is the in-house Caliber CRMT5 automatic movement, driving the duo of hands at the center and a flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock with about 50 hours of power reserve. Skeletonized, sculptural, and striking, Pharrell Williams Richard Mille RM 74-02 Tourbillon watches suit his ecclectic style perfectly.
RM 17-01 Tourbillon
Another Richard Mille tourbillon that Pharrell Williams likes to wear often is the RM 17-01, a manual-winding piece. It’s the openworked evolution of the earlier RM 017, featuring the same tonneau-shaped profile and ultra-thin movement, and was quietly added to the brand’s catalog in 2019.
While there are several material variations available, Pharrell’s choice is the white gold version, fully paved with diamonds — including the winding crown. Inside that sparkly tonneau case is the hand-wound RM017 tourbillon caliber, which powers the hours, minutes, a function selector, and a power reserve indicator.
RM 011 Romain Grosjean Lotus F1
Pharrell Williams has also worn the RM 011 Romain Grosjean Lotus F1, a limited edition Richard Mille chronograph made in collaboration with F1 driver Romain Grosjean, who was racing for the Lotus F1 Team at the time. In fact, Pharrell wore this special edition RM 11 watch during a major career milestone — when he received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Released in 2014, the RM 011 Lotus F1 Edition features a case made from NTPT (North Thin Ply Technology) carbon — a visually distinct and extremely durable material used in aerospace and Formula 1. The flyback chronograph is powered by the automatic RMAC1 caliber, offering hours, minutes, seconds, 60-minute countdown timer, 12-hour totalizer, flyback chronograph, annual calendar, and oversize date. Zoom in on the top of the dial and you’ll spot the “Lotus F1 Team Official Partner” plaque.
RM 65-01 Automatic Split-Seconds Chronograph
Together with Richard Mille, Pharrell Williams offered a unique RM 65-01 Automatic Split-Seconds Chronograph for auction on Joopiter, with proceeds benefiting Black Ambition — the non-profit initiative he founded.
This one-of-a-kind piece, which sold for $375,000 in 2024, is distinguished by Pharrell’s engraved signature on the sapphire crystal caseback. Signed and worn by the artist himself, the watch is based on Richard Mille’s most complex automatic chronograph to date: the RM 65-01.
The case combines red gold front and back bezels with a Carbon TPT caseband and is fitted with a red rubber strap. Inside beats the RMAC4 movement, driving the hours, minutes, seconds, split-seconds chronograph, date display, a function selector, variable-geometry rotor, and a rapid-winding mechanism — naturally, all visible through the openworked dial.
As an added bonus, the winning bidder also received an invitation for two to attend one of Richard Mille’s ultra-exclusive brand events, such as the Rallye des Légendes, the Richard Mille Art Prize in Abu Dhabi, or the Chantilly Arts et Elegance near Paris
The True “Pharrell Williams Richard Mille”: RM 52-05
Now that we’ve run through the Richard Mille watches Pharrell Williams has been spotted wearing, let’s turn our attention to the one he helped create. Released in 2019, the RM 52-05 Tourbillon Pharrell Williams is the official Richard Mille x Pharrell Williams collaboration — a limited edition of only 30 pieces that channels his lifelong fascination with space into one of the brand’s most striking watches.
The dial features a sculpted astronaut helmet crafted from Grade 5 titanium and painted white with aerospace-grade pigments. Behind the helmet is a miniature rendition of Valles Marineris — the Martian canyon — engraved in red gold. The baseplate and skeletonized bridges are also Grade 5 titanium, punctuated by blue aventurine-glass inserts that sparkle like stars in deep space. Think Richard Mille Skull watches, but with an astronaut head instead. Powering the watch is the Caliber RM52‑05 manual winding movement with a tourbillon beating on the astronaut’s chest.
The Epic Richard Mille Collection of Pharrell Williams
Pharrell’s affinity for Richard Mille watches goes far beyond casual collecting. He’s worn some of the brand’s rarest models, designed one of the most imaginative pieces in the RM catalog, and even rapped about them in his lyrics.
From fan to collaborator, Pharrell’s relationship with Richard Mille is as authentic as it is impressive. And it’s safe to say his collection ranks among the most remarkable publicly known RM stashes in the world. We’d be remiss not to mention that his wife Helen Lasichanh is frequently spotted wearing epic Richard Mille watches of her own. We can only imagine how wild their combined RM collection must be.
