2025 MB&F Watch Releases: Madness, Serpents, and Longhorns
2025 marks the 20th anniversary of MB&F, the ultra-cool, ultra-innovative, and ultra-sought-after independent watch brand founded by Maximilian Büsser with a little help from his friends. As expected, the two-decade milestone is being celebrated with a series of special releases — and so far, MB&F is delivering across the board. From ultra-limited steel Longhorn and EVO editions of their Legacy Machines to a surprise follow-up to the wildly successful M.A.D.1 and a futuristic collaboration with Bulgari, the 2025 MB&F watch releases prove that the brand isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Here’s a running list of the new MB&F watches, complete with specs and pricing info.

MB&F LM101 EVO 20th Anniversary Editions
Release Date: September 2025
The Legacy Machine (LM) series was first introduced by MB&F watches in 2011 as a more classically inspired counterpart to the brand’s futuristic Horological Machines. While still unmistakably MB&F in design, the Legacy Machines drew heavily on 19th-century pocket watch traditions, showcasing oversized balance wheels, domed crystals, and traditional finishing techniques. A decade later, MB&F evolved the concept with the EVO line, which re-engineered the Legacy Machine for greater wearability and durability. EVO cases feature screw-down crowns, increased water resistance, integrated rubber straps, and the proprietary FlexRing shock absorption system, giving the avant-garde Legacy Machine a sportier, more practical approach.
To celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2025, MB&F has introduced two new LM101 EVO editions in titanium, available with either a salmon or peacock green dial plate at Geneva Watch Days 2025. Both colors are achieved using CVD (chemical vapor deposition), chosen for its technical advantages since the dial plate is integral to the movement. The salmon dial marks a rare appearance for MB&F, while the peacock green plate stands out with iridescent hues that shift between green, blue, and purple depending on the light.
The titanium case, which measures 40mm in diameter and 16.5mm thick, is water resistant to 80 meters. It’s paired with a rubber strap in either white (for the green model) or gray (for the salmon edition), secured by a titanium folding buckle.
These EVO editions feature several refinements compared to previous LM101 models. The twin black subdials now have finely circled borders, while the hours and minutes are displayed at the top right with newly designed white gold hands. At the lower subdial, the power reserve indicator now tracks an improved 60-hour power reserve, up from 45 hours. Above, the oversized 14mm balance wheel continues to hover under the iconic twin arches, which have been reshaped with a more fluid base and finished to a mirror polish. Even the escapement wheel has been subtly reworked, drawing inspiration from MB&F’s recurring battle-axe motif.
Inside is the manually wound movement developed in-house by MB&F and finished to exacting standards by Kari Voutilainen. It incorporates a Straumann double hairspring, slipping mainspring barrel, and MB&F’s proprietary FlexRing shock absorption system. The 233-component caliber runs at 18,000 vph and is displayed through a box sapphire crystal caseback, revealing darkened NAC-treated bridges with Geneva waves, hand-polished bevels, gold chatons, blued screws, and intricate engravings that echo 19th-century pocket watch artistry.
While not formally limited, annual production will be just a few dozen pieces due to the complexity of manufacturing. The MB&F LM101 EVO anniversary watches are each priced at CHF 62,000, which is approximately USD $77,100.

M.A.D.Editions x Yinka Ilori M.A.D.1S “Grow Your Dreams”
Release Date: August 2025
For its latest collaboration, M.A.D.Editions (MB&F’s more affordable spin-off brand) has partnered with British-Nigerian artist and designer Yinka Ilori MBE, for the M.A.D.1S “Grow Your Dreams”, a colorful three-piece series inspired by Ilori’s philosophy of nurturing ambition.
Each stainless steel watch measures 42mm × 15mm and introduces colored HyCeram ceramic inlays on the bezel. Power comes from the La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement with a 68-hour reserve, driving rotating hour cylinders with numerals designed by Ilori. The titanium rotor is reworked with a tree motif, anodized in bold colors, and inscribed “Grow Your Dreams.”
Three editions of 400 pieces each are offered:
- Sun with yellow rotor, yellow/green straps
- Nature with green rotor, purple/red straps
- Water with blue rotor, light/dark blue straps
All models include an extra white strap. Priced at CHF 3,200 plus VAT, the watches will be released via raffle from September 2–8, 2025.

HM8 Mark 2
Release Date: June 2025
MB&F’s automotive-inspired watch family continues to evolve with the HM8 Mark 2, first launched in 2023 as the successor to the HM5, HMX, and HM8 “Can-Am.” Like its predecessors, the Mark 2 features the distinctive speedometer-style time display on the case flank, achieved with sapphire prisms that project jumping hours and trailing minutes vertically for easy reading while driving.
After the maiden white and British racing green editions in 2023, followed by a sapphire blue version in 2024, MB&F has unveiled a new purple edition for 2025, limited to 33 pieces. The body panels are crafted from CarbonMacrolon, a proprietary composite reinforced with carbon nanotubes that is light, rigid, and capable of taking on deep, lustrous colors with metallic pigments (similar to high-end automotive paint). The purple finish offers a vibrant, almost luminous quality under changing light conditions, not unlike luxury car bodywork.
Case dimensions remain 47 × 41.5 × 19mm, with water resistance to 30 meters. The grade 5 titanium chassis anchors the construction, topped with a double-bubble sapphire crystal that is exceptionally complex to produce. Under the hood is a modified Girard-Perregaux movement, visible through the caseback and equipped with MB&F’s 22k gold battle-axe rotor. The automatic caliber drives the vertical time display, with jumping hours and trailing minutes, and offers a 42-hour power reserve. The purple HM8 Mark 2 is paired with a white rubber strap and titanium buckle.
With its vivid color and chassis-like construction, the HM8 Mark 2 continues MB&F’s tribute to supercar design in watchmaking and is priced at $88,000.

MB&F Special Project One (SP One)
Release Date: May 2025
To yet again mark its 20th anniversary, MB&F has launched the Special Project One, a watch that asks the question: what if MB&F created an elegant 38mm piece? The SP One introduces a new “Special Projects” line, sitting somewhere between the brand’s radical Horological Machines and the more traditional Legacy Machines.
The case, described as “pebble-like,” emphasizes smooth curves, a bezel-free profile, and detached lugs that rise from the lower case to heighten the floating illusion. At just 38mm by 12mm, the SP One is MB&F’s slimmest and smallest watch to date, yet it retains the three-dimensional architecture the brand is known for. Its design centers on three floating elements: the barrel, balance wheel, and inclined time dial, which all appear to hover in an “amphitheater” framed by a beveled flange and showcased under seamless sapphire domes. The effect is a stage-like view where the balance wheel oscillates at 2 o’clock, the barrel levitates in place, and the tilted dial at 6 o’clock reveals MB&F’s mastery of conical gearing.
Powering the watch is the in-house SP One movement, developed by MB&F and finished under the eye of Kari Voutilainen. The manual-winding caliber features a Straumann double hairspring, a single mainspring barrel offering a 72-hour power reserve, and meticulous 19th-century-style hand finishing, including polished bevels, gold chatons, and dark anthracite bridges.
Two editions debut the SP One: one in platinum with a sky-blue flange, the other in rose gold with an anthracite flange. Both are fitted with calfskin straps and matching pin buckles. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters.

M.A.D.Editions M.A.D.2
Release Date: March 2025
For those unfamiliar, M.A.D.Editions is MB&F’s spin-off brand created to make something more affordable, more accessible, and more fun — all without diluting the high-end horology MB&F is known for. These watches carry over the same wild spirit but are produced in larger quantities and offered at much lower price points (via raffle). While MB&F watches are six-figure sci-fi machines, M.A.D.Editions are meant to be wearable art for everyday fans of the brand — or as Max once put it, a “thank you” to the fans.
The second chapter in the M.A.D.Editions story is here — and it’s nothing short of a remix. The M.A.D.2 was designed by longtime MB&F collaborator Eric Giroud as a tribute to the energy and design language of 1990s Swiss club culture. With raised subdials that mimic DJ turntables and a rotating central disc inspired by vinyl grooves and the stroboscopic bands of a Technics SL-1200, this is a watch born from the rave floor — quite literally.
Inside the 42mm stainless steel pebble-shaped case of the M.A.D.2 watch is a Swiss-made La Joux-Perret automatic movement with a bespoke bi-directional jumping hour and trailing minutes module developed in-house by MB&F. Flip it over, and you’ll see the gyroscopic off-center rotor spin like a club strobe — also visible from the front as the stroboscopic platter.
Two editions were made: a green one available via public raffle and an orange one reserved for MB&F’s Tribe and Friends, both priced at CHF 2,900.

MB&F x Bulgari Serpenti
Release Date: February 2025
One of the most surprising collaborations of 2025 comes from MB&F and Bulgari — two wildly different brands that found common ground in mechanical audacity and bold design. Their second joint effort, the MB&F x Bulgari Serpenti, reimagines Bulgari’s iconic snake motif into a futuristic Horological Machine.
Three 33-piece limited editions are available: titanium with blue hour and minute domes, black PVD-coated steel with red domes, and rose gold with green domes. Rather than traditional hands, each 53mm x 39mm x 18mm case includes the hours and minutes displayed on two rotating domes positioned like hypnotic snake eyes, each made from ultra-lightweight aluminum and coated in Super-LumiNova. Above them is a massive 14mm flying balance wheel suspended by a three-dimensional bridge bearing both brand names while the power reserve indicator is on the back.
The manual-wind in-house movement offers a 45-hour power reserve, and the entire engine is visible beneath five curved sapphire crystals — a feat of manufacturing complexity. As Max Büsser put it, “The biomorphic design of this watch created enormous challenges in terms of the case but also the movement.”
Design challenges were immense — both technically and visually — but the result is unmistakably MB&F, unmistakably Serpenti, and unlike anything else released this year. The steel and titanium MB&F x Bulgari Serpenti watches are priced at $148,000 whereas the rose gold version’s price tag is $170,000 in rose gold.

20th Anniversary MB&F Longhorn Watches
Release Date: January 2025
The Longhorn Concept has an interesting backstory that traces back to 2009 during the design phase of MB&F’s first Legacy Machine, the LM1. While the idea of incorporating elongated lugs — or “horns” — was visually appealing, practical issues arose. Specifically, where should the spring bar go? Positioned near the case, the horns might not fit larger wrists, but placed at the tip, they could be uncomfortable for smaller wrists. Ultimately, the design team opted for shorter lugs, shelving the Longhorn idea — at least for a while.
Fast forward to 2021 and the 10th anniversary of the LM1. With the series officially closed, MB&F had no LM1 timepieces left — just a single prototype. Wanting to make this piece extra special, the team revisited the longhorn lugs concept. This time, they added two spring bar positions: one at the tip of the lug and one closer to the case, thereby allowing the wearer to choose where to place the straps.
In addition to the special lugs, MB&F also opted to make this pièce unique in stainless steel rather than gold, titanium, or platinum. Plus, the white subdials were swapped for glossy black ones (contrasting with a rhodium-plated base plate), a notoriously difficult finish to perfect due to its tendency to show even the tiniest dust particles. Despite the challenges, MB&F delivered and the one-of-a-kind 10th Anniversary LM1 in steel with black subdials was sold at auction with proceeds donated to Save the Rhino International and closing the chapter on the LM1 series.
Now, to honor the MB&F’s 20th birthday, the brand has revived the Longhorn concept with two anniversary timepieces featuring steel cases, long lugs (aka horns), rhodium-plated base plates, glossy black lacquer subdials, and blued hands.
2025 MB&F Release: Legacy Machine Perpetual Longhorn
The LM Perpetual Longhorn brings MB&F’s GPHG award-winning perpetual calendar movement back into the spotlight. First unveiled in 2015 and developed in collaboration with renowned independent watchmaker Stephen McDonnell, this revolutionary movement redefines the traditional perpetual calendar.
With 581 components, the movement was purpose-built to eliminate the common pitfalls of conventional designs. Thanks to McDonnell’s innovative “mechanical processor,” the LM Perpetual ensures smooth operation, avoiding skipping dates or jamming gears by pushers that automatically deactivate during calendar adjustments.
“We cannot talk about MB&F’s journey, without talking about Stephen McDonnell. It is for this reason that we wanted to start our 20th-anniversary celebrations with his calibres, which are some of the most complicated movements in the MB&F collection.”
– Maximilian Büsser
In this 20th-anniversary edition of the Legacy Machine Perpetual, McDonnell’s innovative in-house movement is combined with the Longhorn’s striking aesthetic. The stainless steel case, which measures 44mm in diameter by 17.5 mm thick, houses the characteristic rhodium-plated base plates, glossy black lacquer subdials, and blued hands.
The first thing you may notice on the open-worked face of the watch is the promient V-shaped bridge that secures the 14mm balance wheel at the center of the dial. These are accompanied by the date subdial at 3, the month subdial at 6, and the date subdial at 9. Spanning 4 and 5 o’clock is the power reserve indicator while arching between 7 and 8 is the leap year indicator.
Attached to the case’s signature elongated lugs is a tan calf leather strap, furnished with a steel folding buckle. Limited to just 20 pieces, the Legacy Machine Perpetual Longhorn is priced at CHF 168,000 (approximately $184,000).

LM Sequential Flyback Longhorn
The other 2025 MB&F watch release, the LM Sequential Flyback Longhorn was also brought to life by Stephen McDonnell. First introduced in 2022 as the LM Sequential EVO, it marked MB&F’s debut into the chronograph space and represented the brand’s 20th in-house caliber. The LM Sequential EVO was no ordinary chronograph, boasting groundbreaking innovations such as the “Twinverter” binary switch, which enabled an array of timing modes. From independent timing and split-seconds to cumulative and lap-timer functions, the LM Sequential EVO was a technical masterpiece that earned MB&F the Aiguille d’Or at that year’s GPHG.
The LM Sequential Flyback, which followed in 2024, pushed the boundaries even further by retaining all the timing modes of the EVO while also adding a flyback function.
The 20th anniversary LM Sequential Flyback takes that incredibly complicated chronograph movement and dresses it up Longhorn style, which is to say a stainless steel case with Longhorn lugs and glossy black subdials with blued hands. Like the perpetual calendar, the LM Sequential Flyback Longhorn features a 44mm case but it is slightly thicker (expected with a chronograph), clocking in at 18.2mm.
Similar to the previous LM Sequential Flyback, the dial of this 2025 MB&F Longhorn release packs a punch with its numerous displays and indicators. First, hours and minutes are positioned at 6 o’clock followed by two independent chronographs. The left chronograph displays seconds at 9 o’clock and minutes at 11 o’clock, with its start/stop and reset/flyback pushers located at 10 o’clock and 8 o’clock, respectively. The right chronograph shows seconds at 3 o’clock and minutes at 1 o’clock, with its start/stop and reset/flyback pushers at 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock. Both chronographs are equipped with a flyback function, while the innovative Twinverter pusher at 9 o’clock allows users to simultaneously invert the start/stop status of both chronographs. Finally, the power reserve indicator is located on the caseback-side of the movement.
This flyback chronograph edition has the same tan calfskin strap with a steel folding buckle as the perpetual calendar. What’s more, the LM Sequential Flyback Longhorn is also limited to 20 pieces and priced at CHF 168,000.
