The curved dagger on a belt crossed by a pair of swords is the national symbol of Oman introduced by Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said in 1970. The Sultan, a watch collector and appreciator, commissioned Khanjar-signed timepieces and offered them as gifts. This particular Day-Date has a red Khanjar symbol stamped on its champagne dial.
