Roman:
We’ve got a lot of stuff to unbox, so let’s get right to it. This is one of Alex’s favorite watches, which is the Elegante.
Alex:
Everyone can hate on it. I get it, it’s a ladies’ watch.
Roman:
It’s not a ladies’ watch.
Alex:
It started as a ladies’ watch.
Roman:
What’s the most special thing about it?
Alex:
If you leave it down for 35 minutes, the battery will shut off and go to standby mode. The battery is made to last eight to 10 years. If you’re wearing it regularly, or if it’s on standby mode, it’s 18 years.
Roman:
Then when you pick it back up, you just shake it and it goes back to the time it’s supposed to be.
Alex:
Yeah, it goes back to the time.
Roman:
Speaking of F.P. Journe, a big shout out to Eric from BAIT. Now what he did … No, this is not an F.P. Journe.
Crew:
I saw this on IG.
Roman:
He does a line of hype toys called Kokies. What he did was, is he made these two guys. What you’re able to do is you’re actually able to put different Journe’s on him. Right now, this guy is wearing the Chronometre blue. You can take that off and pick … Let’s go with this guy, and you can change out their watches, which is absolutely insane. The details on these watches are just sick. I don’t know if you guys can see that.

Roman:
Shout out to Eric. Eric is a huge watch collector. I know he loves Journe, but his favorite brand is actually AP, just like mine. Eric and we do a collab with AP as well, I love the Journe stuff. You can pick these up still. I don’t think they’ve sold out yet because he just dropped them. Eric, thank you so much for these. These are going to be in my office. That is absolutely awesome. Let’s show some watches. I wonder if I have any more Journes in here? Here’s a Seiko.
Alex:
I hope so.
Roman:
That is not a Seiko.
Alex:
Whoa.
Roman:
That is not a Seiko. This is the MB&F Moonmachine 2. You can see the phases of the moon here. They’re amplified. Then also you have a little moon on the rotor. This, again, I can go for hours talking about this watch. I should do probably a separate video. Let Marco do it. Shout out to Max Busser for such a creation.
Roman:
We have, oh, Yacht-Master II, stainless steel. I absolutely loved when they came out with this watch because they first came out with it in gold, which was less affordable. Again, at the time, you can still get a discount on Rolex, but for somebody with a large wrist, I’m glad Rolex has this because there are not many options besides this and the Deep Sea, in terms of size, right?
Alex:
This is true.
Roman:
There’s just really not much out there. Speaking of cool colorways, here is another Pepsi, Jubilee, or Oyster?
Alex:
Oyster.
Roman:
Jubilee. Anna likes to call them De Bethune, but in reality, it’s a De Bethune, another independent brand that’s coming up and it’s coming up strong. The packaging on this is insane, by the way, unmistakably, De Bethune based on the way the case is designed. If you watch this brand in the last year, I’ve seen it almost double in pricing when it comes to these guys.
Roman:
This is, oh, Adrian’s watch, the Root Beer, full gold. Still, it’s just a combo of browns and blacks and rose gold. They just work, they just work. I’m glad they didn’t make this with a white dot because it’d be hideous.
Roman:
Legacy Machine Number …?
Alex:
One.
Roman:
One. The way the balance wheel sits on this thing, that’s pretty much floating in the air. Like I said, what can I say? You guys know I’m a big fan of MB&F and now I’m a big fan of Max and his friends and their creations. I just don’t know why anybody would …
Alex:
Where’s your creation at?
Roman:
It’s coming. Shout out to who sent this to us, you know who you are. Please don’t disrespect MB&F with Tag Heuer packaging. I have nothing against Tag Heuer. I love Tag Heuer. Don’t get me wrong, there was plenty of history before they got bought.
Alex:
Well, no one’s going to steal a Tag Heuer box.
Crew:
True.
Roman:
An RM 028 in titanium. Here’s the one thing I’m going to say about this, all right? I have a small wrist, here in comparison. Here’s my IWC, right? It’s a small watch. This watch, if you put both of them together, look how much bigger this watch is, right? Now watch this; somehow, it’s still a good fit.
Crew:
Wow.
Roman:
Do you see what I mean? It’s so weird because look how much bigger this watch is, yet, it’s still a good fit. It’s just the way they designed the case. The way they designed the lock system, the way they designed everything. It’s as if they lift the watch up, utilizing the lock systems and the way the strap sits, allowing somebody with a girly wrist like me, to actually wear a big ass watch. This is 48 millimeters, just FYI.
Roman:
We have a Batman.
Alex:
This one is not in the greatest completeness or shape.
Roman:
Not in the greatest of completeness? What is that?
Alex:
It’s not complete.
Roman:
What is?
Alex:
That’s all I’m saying. There’s no box, no papers.
Roman:
Well, they have service papers.
Alex:
There are service papers.
Roman:
This is not in the greatest of completeness.
Alex:
But this is what you want to buy if you’re looking for a budget Batman.
Roman:
This is a budget Batman. It’s like Batman without the Batman deal, nothing to it?
Alex:
Exactly.
Roman:
Oh, this is the new Palm Dial. That is probably one of the more beautiful dials Rolex has made, as of recent, with the exception of the Easy Kill? What is that? What are they called?
Alex:
What?
Crew:
Eisenkiesel.
Roman:
There you go. Ask the German in the room, Eisenkiesel.
Alex:
Wait, you’re German now?
Roman:
Wait, this is a newer model. This is the bigger one. Reference number, kids?
Alex:
I’m sorry. I didn’t even see the watch. Oh, that’s the 116900 or 114900. Is it four or six? Six, I was right.
Roman:
Yeah, you guys are right, but who cares? Thoughts on this? Guys, comment, comment, comment?
Alex:
Air-King, I love it.
Roman:
You know that this was the biggest dog of all Rolex, the older ones, the small ones. It was the biggest dog in the lineup. Nobody ever wanted them, this. When you used to walk into Rolex boutique, everyone had them just laying on the shelves, and now all of a sudden, people realize that they were sleeping on them and they’re no longer less popular.
Roman:
But I think the reason for that, to be honest with you, is because, for the longest time, it was the most affordable one. This is how you get dog watches to become big collectibles because if it’s not popular, Rolex is not producing as many. Then when they’re done, there’s a lot less of them out there, and all of a sudden, people are like, “Oh, wait a minute. That’s actually a collectible.”
Roman:
Speaking of green watches, how about a green camo? I call this one Audemars taking a bite out of Horus straps and realizing that “Why are we going to allow …” See, that’s the thing, is they didn’t go out after them and say, “Oh, you know what? We’re going to sue you.”
Alex:
Respect to Audemars.
Roman:
I respect that, but at the same token, they’re saying, “Listen, we can do it and we can do it better because listen, the factory strap will always, always, always be better than not factory,” although ORIS and all the other companies that do this, they’re doing a pretty good job in terms of being able to have that perfect fit.
Crew:
Right, and put the quality behind it.
Roman:
The quality behind it, but factory is factory. For me, I’m not a big fan of not-factory anything with the exception of straps, right?
