At the heart of the Yacht-Master II is the Caliber 4160 movement containing 360 individual components. The movement is equipped with an innovative programmable countdown with a mechanical memory. The bidirectional 90-degree rotatable command bezel sits atop the larger than usual 44 mm case. The bezel is used in conjunction with an internal column wheel and vertical clutch to set the countdown. Yachting enthusiasts may use this to program regatta countdown sequences from one to ten minutes. The chronograph can be synchronized to the official race countdown at any time.
This is the first Professional Oyster watch to be made from 904L steel alloy and 18k Everose gold. Rolex refers to the finish as Everose Rolesor. This stunningly beautiful finish is extraordinary. The bezel is made of 18k Everose gold. A blue cerachrom insert graces the bezel. This patented bezel insert is made in-house by Rolex. It is scratchproof and non-fading. The center links of the bracelet are highly polished 18k Everose gold. The outer links are 904L steel alloy in a satin finish. The case is made from a solid block of the 904L steel and is polished to perfection.
The Yacht-Master two is also available in white gold. The case is made of 18k white gold while the bezel is fashioned from platinum. The white-gold bracelet has highly polished center links while outer links have a satin finish. An outstandingly brilliant yellow-gold finish is also available. The case, bracelet and bezel are made of 18k yellow-gold. The center links are highly polished and the outer links have a satin finish for an attractive two-tone appearance.
