With one look it becomes clear that Officine Panerai's series of Luminor Marina Automatic Chronographs is a masterwork of function and design. Built with the sailing enthusiast in mind, this wristwatch line features several features that make it stronger and more resilient than most other watches in its class. Cases are sized between 40 and 44 millimeters are constructed of either brushed or polished stainless steel or exceptionally light and strong titanium. Both materials are highly resistant to corrosion, making them ideal choices for those salt-water adventure enthusiasts. An ultra-strong, scratch-resistant, anti-reflective sapphire crystal and a patented swing-down crown protector further add to this watch line's stalwartness. With a water resistance rating of approximately 900 feet, there is never a need for concern about exposing this watch to any amount of moisture. Furthermore, the Luminor Marina's in-house designed and manufactured COSC-certified 21-jeweled automatic OP III calibre with 42 hour power reserve is protected by Officine Panerai's patented Incabloc anti-shock mechanism, which reduces the effects of extreme forces on the internal mechanism.
The Luminor Marina Automatic isn't all brawn though; it's also a magnificent work of refined design. Available with either a stealthy black, midnight blue or brilliant white dial, the face features large Arabic numerals and the 12 and six o'clock positions, with clear tick marks indicating the hours in between. Big, luminous hour and minute hands allow quick and clear time readings, while a magnified date window is set in the traditional three o'clock position. A seconds counter complication sits at nine o'clock on the dial. Strap options include hand-stitched alligator leather available in black, brown and blue, as well as stainless steel and titanium.
