The year 2006 marked the 160th anniversary of the founding of Ulysse Nardin Watches, an occasion that could not go unnoticed. In honor of the date, the great watchmaker created an exceptional luxury timepiece whose style and elegance showed that their fame was well earned.
Anniversary 160 is a real style-setter with its warm colors and exquisite design. A wide bezel of white or rose gold encircles a round dial. In an unusual move, the designers of Ulysse Nardin Watches have cut away parts of the face of their luxury timepiece to reveal another surface in the background. These areas are blue like the rest of the dial, but folded like the pleats of a theater curtain. There is almost a feeling of drama, as if the curtain is about to part and show something spectacular.
In truth, the movement of this luxury timepiece is a spectacular technical achievement. Anniversary 160 contains a balance wheel custom-built by Ulysse Nardin Watches with four screws for adjusting the frequency. The movement is automatic and this luxury timepiece is water resistant to 50 meters.
There is no doubt of what Anniversary 160 is celebrating. The Ulysse Nardin name is on a silver plate just above the axis, while a smaller plate has the dates 1846-2006.
Anniversary 160 is a chronometer, a fact inscribed on a third plate on the dial. Of course, this means the luxury timepiece is of exceptional accuracy and will give superior performance for its entire long life.
