Swiss-designed and manufactured, Vacheron Constantin watches are backed by more than 250 years of horological mastery, a distinction that very few other timepieces can match. There is perhaps no better gauge of a watchmaker's skill than the quality of its chronographs; Vacheron Constantin's Overseas Chronograph series is an unmistakable testament to this watchmaker's unparalleled talent.
Vacheron Constantin's stunning array of flawless chronographs feature cases between 42 and 43-millimeters that are available in a broad range of metals, including brushed stainless steel, a stainless steel and titanium combination, 18k yellow gold, and 18k rose gold. All watches in the line sport a traditional, clean chronograph display. Luminescent hours, minutes and seconds hands sweep over equally luminescent indexes that define each hour. Smaller indexes indicating minutes, seconds and milliseconds ring the dial's perimeter. A rectangular date window positioned at 12 o'clock is a minor, but welcome departure from its more traditional three o'clock location. Small dials featuring 30-minute, 60-second and 12-hour counters are positioned at the traditional three, six and nine o'clock, respectively. Generously sized push-button stopwatch controls sit just north and south of the screw-down crown and allow for straightforward manipulation of the second hand during timing operations. An anti-glare sapphire crystal protects the dial.
If a luxury timepiece is only as good as its movement, than the Overseas Chronograph is one of the best. The Vacheron Constantin-engineered and produced 1137 automatic movement is accurate to a fault, and features an impressive 37 jewels, which reduce internal component friction to nearly nothing for generations of trouble-free operation. Indeed, any of the timepieces in this series is an instant heirloom. Strap options include rubber, hand-sewn leather, stainless steel, rose gold, yellow gold and silver.
