The numerous functions useful to pilots are powered by a SuperQuartz Caliber 78 (with a 2-3 year battery life) that is ten times more accurate than standard quartz.
The double caseback construction serves to amplify sound signals.
User friendliness, readability, ergonomics; while functionality is an essential attribute of all Breitling instruments for professionals, the Chronospace has adopted it as a supreme value.
There is an impressive list of functions: 1/100th of a second chronograph with split times, alarm, countdown, dual Timezone with independent alarm, UTC (Coordinated Universal Time abbreviated to UTC; formerly known as Greenwich Mean Time) and perpetual calendar.
The large-sized dial features oversized hands and an extremely effective backlighting system enabling night-time read-off.
This pilot’s instrument is also equipped with a slide rule that is easily and accurately operated by rotating the star-shaped bezel.
